    Hello Friends,

I write this after considerable time! Almost a year!

Anyways, I have made few changes to my motorcycle since I wrote.

    1. Air Filter (MotoWing)
    2. NGK Spark Plugs
    3. Carbon Racing Windshield (Clear)
    4. YSS front suspensions with variable springs
    5. SimTac LED turn indicator bulb

Over all, riding experience has improved significantly. However, I have somewhat lukewarm experience with carbon racing windshield. I am 167cm (5'6"ish) and I experience significant increase in wind noise. I am yet to work on adjusting it to make it work for me.

I have clocked 9995km to date and hope to go on riding-spree once things are better again.

      1. MT Atom
      2. LS2 FF 386
      3. SMK Glide

Please let me know which among these three options are the best. Any user reviews would be welcome.

Also, any other option other than these 3 are also welcome.

      Cheers!
Pick from Smk glide or Mt atom, smk is locally made so parts are easily available.
Wind noise would be little more than MT but smk is worth it plus it cost half of what mt cost. I would personally not buy ls2 coz it is the most faked product when it comes to helmets here in delhi.

For more on helmets move to the dedicated helmet thread.

        1. Interceptor is a mid capacity motorcycle with reasonable power and torque figures. The bike is heavy without a doubt. While the performance is good, it is not explosive by any standards and hence requires adequate braking power and not extreme.

        2. The brakes of this bike are extremely adequate and do an admirable job stopping this heavy machine. I have seen some videos on YT which compare stopping distances between the Interceptor and Duke 390 and the Interceptor wins hands down.

        3. My personal experience also shows that Interceptor brakes are par for the course. Could they have been better...Of course and there is no end to it.

Given the above aspects if you desire better braking in terms of bite and feedback then I would recommend that you upgrade to better sintered brake pads like the ones sold by EBC rather than going for ceramic ones immediately. So far ceramic brakes on Interceptor have not been adopted widely by known modifiers of repute.

If EBC pads also does not do it for you then go ahead by all means. I personally am planning to go for EBC pads when I am due to change my brake pads.

        Hope this helps.
Thank you, Brother. I just got the rear Vesrah ceramic brake pads on a sale from LRL motors and it is yet to be used. Any idea on the stock brake pad life of INT 650?

Then comes the ceramic which is made form dense ceramic kind of use in pottery and they can withstand more heat and produce less brake dust and are also quite and make little noise with water contact.
Moderately taxing on rotors have decent life. Suited for everyday use and moderately aggressive riding.

Sintered , these are metal particle compressed together with other fibers , these are kind of top of the line thing and can withstand more heat and moderate to aggressive riding. These are high friction and are more taxing on the rotors , also these are noiser than previous two and doesn't like water much. Life is also less in comparison. These are more taxing on the rotors.
        Also available as semi metallic.
These don't fail under mud or wet.

What we have is full copper sintered and are very good pads as per company and on closer inspection you can notice that too.

Then the top of the line racing pads , a blend of ceramic and sintered and double sintered with more copper content.

For everyday riding ceramic pads wont disappoint you if you are not very aggressive with throttle and braking.

Ebc is also offering double sintered pads on the same price as the oem brembos.
Thank you, Brother. Are the EBC brand better than the Brembos?

Can't say it is better than brembo as i haven't tried it yet. But as per user reviews it is good even owners from abroad are shifting to ebc double sintered. I personally find oem pad to be very good and effective and never felt the need to upgrade.

I have been using the easy clutch by pro spec for a month now , and i can tell you it's a really good product, clutch effort will reduce by approx 50%, it's a life safer in traffic. Moreover the owner even gives you a discount if you ask him. Go for it

I am cross posting my own entry from the Universal thread on lighting. Since I own Interceptor 650 I am looking for comments and feedback from fellow Interceptor owners.

"A very informative thread indeed...I need feedback from xBhpians on the performance of the following brands of LEDs preferably in use on Royal Enfield bikes.

                1. Would request you to rate them as per experience

                Auxbeam LED

                Cyclops LED

                Night eye LED

                2. How is the performance of Maddog Aux lights. Would like to know the best mounting position based on experience..Is the fork mounting option really good or is it better to mount the aux lights near the headlamp. Also are the Maddog LED Aux lights really capable of withstanding a Ladakh ride without causing catastrophic damage to the bikes wiring etc...

Looking forward to receiving your valuable feedback..."

Thanks for the detailed step by step process. All your videos are a great source of confidence for DIY enthusiasts. Pray plz do a video on process involved in changing handlebars. That is one of the dark arts that lot of us would look forward to. [emoji847]

Thanks for appreciation , for the handle bar i would see what i can make in this regard as modification are not my thing. All the motorcycles that i have owned were kept in stock form don't like to play with dynamics and ergonomics. Seat cover , mobile holder and charging socket are my only modification [emoji23][emoji23].
But still i would see what I can do in this regard. For the handle bar suggestions if you need to change the stock bar, then the AOM (art of Motorcycle) handle bar is the best one that I have seen for the Interceptor and it doesn't need any cable changes.

I've had the Scout X for quite sometime and I must say it was a wise purchase. The throw is awesome, goes upto 175-200 metre without hassle. Got the lights with the company harness and switch coz I didn't wanna risk with the wiring. Should cost you 7500, if you go for the standard switch with wiring harness. I've done 2 night rides to Bangalore and back(1500km), terrible ghats and rain riding yet the presence these lights command is awesome. I'm guessing they'll withstand Ladakh too. I've mounted them right below/almost adjacent to the headlamp and am working on a DIY cover for them when in the city.

You could also use the fork mounts but I found these mounts better and economical. The throw is slightly declined to the ground so as to not obstruct oncoming riders vision. Feel free to experiment till you find the best angle. Get a pair of these and you'll never think of replacement headlamp bulbs.Click image for larger version

Thanks for the review. All points duly noted. A few more queries if you would be kind enough to elaborate.

Did you buy the entire setup from the Maddog site or from any other third party vendor.

Where was the installation done...any specific precautions to be taken during installation?

Have you found any rusting or discolouration on any of the components.

Lastly have you had any trouble with traffic police regarding the presence of these lights.

                          Thanks in advance

                            1) Bought everything from their site. They do have some authorised dealers too

                            2) They have a technical team that can guide you with the installation. I gave them a call to understand the process and got it done all by myself in my apartment basement. The system if bought with the harness and switch is all plug and play, no wire splicing required

                            3) I stay in a city where it rains too often. No rust accumulated so far. Discoloration in lens/unit - none

                            4) Cops will definitely bother you, if you use it in the city. They may also put a fine for just having it installed. So I made small pouches for them from an old raincoat to keep them concealed. You certainly don't need these in city limits and you won't normally find cops on highways

Make sure you mount it either below or adjacent to the headlight and keep it tilted outside and focused to the ground

Came across this on the net. What an absolute peach of a machine this is. Just goes in to show how good is the chassis and the engine. They have basically changed the suspension, tyres and front brakes. The stock exhaust was used for the trials as the free flow exhaust that the team took was beyond permitted noise levels at the track [emoji23]

What was more interesting was that the bike tended to stall when leaned to the left side specifically. This was consistent with the side on which the washer crack was present. Have sent the bike for getting the problem resolved. Got a call from the RE service centre that the entire tank was drained and they found a fair bit of water inside. The bike is still there. Will update once I get it back. My bike is Nov 18 model.

Owners of BS6 models plz check and confirm same problem is faced by you also.

Quick update on the tank cap rubber washer which was torn and led to water ingress. Yesterday all three locks of the bike were replaced under warranty. A new tank cap was placed with an intact rubber washer. I did not find any significant difference in the cap design, it was the same. Hope this does not deteriorate like the previous one.

All other interceptor owners plz check the fuel tank cap rubber washer and if you find it damaged plz ask for warranty replacement.
