Re: Interceptor 650 Twin
Here is what you can also do....If you have an existing two wheeler insurance policy in your name with a 50 percent No Claim Bonus you can transfer the NCB on the new vehicle as well. That will bring down your premium further. Your insurance agent will tell you how to go about it.Originally posted by 'nYsus' View Post

Re: Interceptor 650 Twin
Absolutely. I never understood why RE owners go for such chariot wheel design. Way back when alloys started appearing on the scene, Bullet owners opted for gaudy, chariot wheels and the trend seems to have continued onto 650 twins. The twins look GREAT with spoked wheels and I really wish RE comes up with redesigned spoked rims that are tubeless (even if as optional accessory) instead of alloy wheels. Fat chance though.Originally posted by Chakrapani View PostWhile looks are subjective I personally find them too gaudy and revolting.

Re: Interceptor 650 Twin
Actually gold coloured spoked tubeless wheels a la Vstrom XT would really complement the looks of the twins...Gold colour would add the required " understated bling " to the bike. I would really like to see something like that on my orange crush.Originally posted by sleepy capybara View PostAbsolutely. I never understood why RE owners go for such chariot wheel design. One more thing I would like to see would be gold coloured forks instead of the black coloured ones. [emoji6]
Just improves the looks a wee bit.
Adding gold coloured Rental flat track handlebars would really push the envelop though...[emoji23]
But like you said...fat chance..

A man can dream. I was playing with RE configurator and actually liked the Baker Express color scheme on INT650 but not the blackened fenders. also removed the black plastic extension from fenders+ gold forks. (If it wasn't for ridiculous footpeg placement INT would have been my first choice.)Originally posted by Chakrapani View PostActually gold coloured spoked tubeless wheels a la Vstrom XT would really complement the looks of the twins...Gold colour would add the required " understated bling " to the bike. Rudimentary effort but gold will look cool.
Off topic. Apologies. I would come up with a GT edit better than this.

Regarding the footpeg placement on Int 650...You can move the footpegs to GT location. I have done it on my bike. Got it done at RE Service centre. That way you get the upright driving position of Int and the footpegs also stay clear of your shins...
How is this for a bit of tank art...
Ps. This photo has the footpegs in the standard configuration.

Neat. I bet a lot of people are doing that since footpegs seem like a common pain point on INT650.Originally posted by Chakrapani View PostGood effort I must say.

Also, great work on that tank! I can't place it, where is the inspiration from? Looks very classic and sublime. Kudos!

I have a thing for racing stripes. Cant remember correctly but I remember having seen something like this on a RD 350 in my childhood.
The other paint schemes on the twins have vertically oriented or sloping stripes. I found the orange tank too large a monochromatic visual mass. Hence a visual relief was warranted..
Had toyed with various widths of stripes, considered yellow colour as well. This is the final configuration that appealed to my sensibilities. The white stripes have a very fine gold bordering as well - much like the handpainted RE pinstripes. The final credit goes to the artist who did the fine stickering job.

Re: Interceptor 650 Twin
Hey all,
Having superb fun on my new interceptor and completed 350kms already. Thanks for the guidance through the insurance and basic checks, i managed to get a good deal with Go Digit.
A couple of queries here, i have been doing two up riding with my wife and completed a 200km ride. But nearing the end, i got a searing pain in right upper back just above the scapula (in traps). Has anyone noticed/experienced this? Could this be related to a really stiff throttle or suspension setup?"When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return." ~ Leonardo da Vinci

I have an insurance in pulsar 220 which my younger brother uses currently, don't know how I could have merged the two. Also that policy was just third party, now i got the comprehensive one with accident cover in go digit"When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return." ~ Leonardo da Vinci

So you did get the NCB transferred to your new policy right? As long as you benefit from this bit of information the purpose is achieved.Originally posted by 'nYsus' View PostMan you are like the insurance guru!!

In fact there are many such fine print type things that are not common knowledge. I was told of this aspect a senior motoring enthusiast a long time ago. I have benefitted from it. Imagine I transferred 50 percent NCB from my nine year old Wagon R onto my new Ecosport about 5 years ago. That was a sweet moment. So I presume you too will do the same and enlighten someone else down the line.

Re: Interceptor 650 Twin
Have never experienced anything like this...But have experienced numb bums, burning bums plenty of times though [emoji23][emoji23] thanks to the soft stock seat.Originally posted by 'nYsus' View PostHey all,

The stock riding position on the Interceptor is slightly forward leaning. The weight of the bike and new riding position tend to make the rider stiffen up the upper body a bit which could lead to fatigue and pain over a long ride. Also the stock grips on the Interceptor are hard and I have faced numbness in the wrist and palms after long rides. Having a pillion (60 kg approx) also places additional strain on your shoulders and upper back. This I have experienced when I have done long rides with the Missus. Hence it is possible that a combination of the above factors may have caused the extreme physical discomfort that you experienced.
But nevertheless, try and keep your upper body loose while riding. Especially the shoulders... Also try the following
1. Put handlebar risers to improve the riding posture. I have put risers and the overall strain on shoulders reduced dramatically. Fatigue also reduced a great deal.
2. Put Grip Puppies on your handlebar grips. I am using Trip Machine grip wraps and have found them to be ok.
3. Make a conscious effort to stretch your shoulders and upper back while riding especially riding two up.
Hope this helps.

Re: Interceptor 650 Twin
Any suggestions on how to better the seat? I've thought of doing either of these:Originally posted by Chakrapani View PostHave never experienced anything like this...But have experienced numb bums, burning bums plenty of times though [emoji23][emoji23] thanks to the soft stock seat.
1) CGT touring seat from RE
2) Touring seat from Sahara seats
Has anyone done either of the above on their bike and noticed considerable differences? Please advise

Re: Interceptor 650 Twin
One option aside from the two that you have already brought out would be to go for Fego Float air cushion seat. It can be used on a variety of two wheelers. It is portable and easily detachable. It preserves the stock look as well. I have used it for long rides and believe me no numb bums at all.Originally posted by dastaan_93 View PostAny suggestions on how to better the seat? My ability to ride without a break has also gone up from 60 mins to at least three hours. I rode non stop for over four hours over different road surfaces on my last ride before lockdown.
I am not sure about the CGT touring seat. But what I have heard from friends is that it increases your ride time from 60 mins to a maximum of 120 minutes if not lesser.
I am considering changing over to CGT touring seat but that is purely from aesthetics perspective [emoji41]. For a long ride I will still use Fego Float.

Re: Interceptor 650 Twin
Yup you are right. I didn't want to switch over to the touring seat coz I haven't heard of it making promising differences other than upping aesthetics. Had a look at your suggestion along with "Ride on Air", "Air seat", & "Grand pitstop" but I'll still go with Fego- coz you told me so. Just placed an order for it. Thank you for helping out. Any other maintenance tips to make sure it works as expected for the INT650?

Re: Interceptor 650 Twin
Thanks for taking up my suggestion. Once you get your Fego Float you will have to adjust the air in the cushion to suit your self. Keeping it about 25 percent or less inflated gave me the best results. Try it out patiently and go as per the manual and you shall be rewarded with a very comfortable ride.Originally posted by dastaan_93 View PostYup you are right.
