btw why are u parting with ur star? any problems with the bike ?
what is the average mileage u get on ur bike? Best speeds for max mileage on star? do u think i should take the extended warranty option for my bike...3yrs for 600 bucks...only for engine

    thanks
The reason for parting is simple..m upgrading to a bigger bike..
i used to get mileage between 50 and 70kmpl depending on riding conditions and the condition of clutch plate...
    do extend warranty..its very useful.
how many years of warranty u got from the company?
Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

The fairing should set you back by 450-550 bucks. The headlight assembly costs around 250.

            Re: TVS starcity100/110/starsports

            Hi all,

Its a bit strange that I am writing in the ownership review thread after having sold this bike but such is the quality of the bike that I still fondly remember it. I bought this bike in its launch year 2006 as an upgrade from my old KB100 (though I still have the KB100). Very little was heard about this bike except for the brand ambassador MS Dhoni. I took it because it was a good bargain between the unreliability of Bajaj and the expensive spares of Hero Honda.

When I sold this bike for an upgrade in 2013, I had developed such a loyalty to the brand TVS that if they sold a 150CC bike with upright riding position, I would have picked it eyes closed.
I had to go for a GS 150 for the upgrade.

In simple terms, the bike served me for 7 years 40,000 kms on the odometer and the bike never gave me any trouble. The FE increased by the day. I used to get about 57 to 60 in the first few years. I quickly learnt the trick of improving fuel economy and used to get about 63 to 65. By the time the bike was 5 years old, I used to get about 67 to 70 regularly.

Things I would remember about the bike is reliability, smooth gear shift, low maintenance and running costs, the big fuel tank, comfortable seats, etc. This was a 100 cc bike with a big bike feel.

There is one thing I would not remember about this bike is its sound. I hardly used to hear any. Cruising between 50 to 60, I only used to hear the wind howling and never heard the bike's engine.

In my bike, I had changed the tyres at about 35000 kms, chain sprockets at about 40000 kms. I don't recall changing anything else on the bike apart from the engine oil.

Here are some pics of the bike. These were taken in February 2013 on the day I posted the ad. I will share a few more insights later on.
