    Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Race



    The Suzuka 8 Hours is an endurance motorcycle race held at the Suzuka Circuit in Japan each year. As the name implies, the race runs for eight hours consecutively and teams are composed of two riders and one alternate.

    A main attraction of the Suzuka 8 Hours race is that it normally features star riders from MotoGP and Superbike racing factions from around the world.

    In the last 10 years, from 1998 to 2008, Honda has won 9 times (2 time on the RC45, 4 times on the VTR1000, 4 times on the CBR1000RR Fireblade). The only one time when it lost was to Suzuki GSXR1000 in 2007.

    I remember reading about this in valentino rossi's book. they strip the riders naked and make them sleep on ice and put them on iv. to relax them.

            ^ I am not joking. its two riders 2 hours each. so they do that to recover the rider from muscle fatigue. iv(glucose intra veinous) to gain energy instantly. thats what rossi said

            check the wikipedia article, rossi participated in it in 2001.

              Ive been wanting to read Rossi's autobiography..
              Just haven't gotten arounf to actually reading it

              The IV Glucose part is completely understandable..
              But the stripping naked and being put on ice is surely Rossi humour right..?

                giving iv glucose as a pre race stimulant makes no sense trust
                there must some miscommunication...
                post race makes sense but pre race is BS.....
                i know what i am talking about...
                @boo can u read the passage again...rossi's english is actually very bad...
