I can make a custom EV as per your requirement, BUT, the problem is registration. The Solution i can see is, Get your R15, I can converty it into a hybrid. Or even an automated manual transmission.Originally posted by jigar2speed View PostEDIT: Yes, i am interested, have been using YO EXL ER but, i think you have won my heart... You can contact me for further details
I build these things for passion. Not to earn money, as I have a nice job. Specially promoting EV's/ IC engines have reached their limit. So if you are seriously interested, lemme know, and may be we can work something out. Thanks.

Hi n sorry for the late reply. Well you can achieve 300 kms in one charge. But the lead acid batteries that I am using, have a very low energy density. Li-ion batteries -so far the best are small, light, compact, and amazing in terms of power delivery and energy density storage. But they are very expensive. Also they need special care during - charging and discharging. So the full setup goes expensive. The next option is a Fuel cell, which is amazing, but the technology is not yet here in India, and very expensive. A compromise would be a Range extender - i.e. a small I.C. engine on board used to charge the batteries continuously - like the chev volt. Solar panels also contribute, but very less.Originally posted by aargee View PostGreat applause to your Hemank
Brilliant work.
Pardon my noob question, what is it that makes difficult to last one charge for a range of 300 Kms? Reason being that, I'd personally like to own an electric scooter/step-thru (for touring) that has...
Top speed - 100 Kmph
Range - 300 Kms
Pay Load - 120 Kg
Charging time - 50% under an hour & full charge under 4 hours
What is still evolving? Is it the technology in battery or something else? Pls educate. Tks
And by the way. If you want, and have no budget issues (well wont be bomb expensive), We can build one for you. An Electric scooter that does 300 kms in one charge, and a top speed of 100 kmph. I have built a special kind of transmission, specially for EVs, to solve this purpose. - Patent is done, but I still have to get it in hand. On application of this transmission, Ur dream will come true
If you are interested in one built (with bills of all raw materials taxes paid, You can contact me
[email protected] Cheers bro.

I loved your answer, I too would want to pick one which would be a real tourer, currently I ride a Royal Enfield Lightning 535. I would not want to use a puny one, instead something which would make the ride comfortable...any sample designs which you can shareOriginally posted by hemank View PostHi n sorry for the late reply. For a while I thought you ignored my question & didn't check this thread for a whileOriginally posted by hemank View PostHi n sorry for the late reply. Well you can...Cheers bro.
I'll mail you on my requirements, all I'm looking for is a comfortable scooter with a top end of 100 Kmph AND if not 300, atleast 200 Kms range in one full charge. Next thing I'm skeptical is, how long will the battery last. I'll also have to weigh the running cost versus the battery replacement.
Then comes the RTO buggers!!! Hope they do approve to use such scooters on road & they don't come back to us saying they need ARAI's approval for registration, tax & most importantly INSURANCE!!!
Last but not the least, I'd also expect some workshop manual on the scooter so that I can carry on with some basic maintenance such as lubrication on bearings & simple troubleshootings on electricals etc.

Yes i am interested, but my R15 will go to Joel for the performance purpose, i have a friend who has a Karizma ZMA that is lying around doing nothing, i am interested in converting that baby into fully electronic... I will contact you soon on PM to understand the cost involved. Thanks a lot for your efforts, we truly appreciate it.Originally posted by hemank View PostI can make a custom EV as per your requirement, BUT, the problem is registration. And we can work out something. And like I said, ARAI and RTO is your biggest problem. All vehicle manufacturers pay a bomb to not allow others to get certified.
