KTM once again had a brilliant race at Dakar 2013 by taking the top five positions.
Cyril Despres won his fifth Dakar title by taking the win in the 2013 season. At the beginning of the rally he had been tipped for the win as his toughest competitor had been ruled out due to injury.
This year both factory backed Yamaha and Husqvarna had strong runs and have a good shot of challenging for titles in the near future. The return of HRC to the Dakar rally has also been very positive for the competition and for spectators as well.
The Dakar rally is conducted over 14 days and covers three countries of South America. Peru, Argentina and Chile. The 14 days see a whopping 8000km of diverse terrain traversed.
