Congrats for results guys. 3 podium finishes are not at all an easy job.

We DO expect a few pics from the race day!

              I rode 2 bikes. My Fiero and Kushanth's Karizma which I prep'd.
I also entered my Group D RTR ofcourse with a little surgery. The engine was left untouched (no time to prep), just added a bigger carb, tuned exhaust, completed weight reduction and a half fairing contraption was made. The bike was completed in 6 hours flat. My friend rode my RTR.

My Fiero was not tested, we finished the bike only on thursday evening just on time to load the bike to Hyd. Keeping fingers crossed on performance, jetting, gearing, handling etc etc.....I headed to Hyd.

The Karizma was basically just stripped completely but no fairing. It was causing a lot of wind drag. A fairing would have helped the bike win this race, anyways.

So I had to slog to get the Fiero running in its best shape. I was testing the bike for the first time at the race track itself. The jetting was wrong, ignition timing needed correction and to top it all, the cam timing also went off.
Compression was very very low. Was barely running stock engine compression.
Got the jetting optimised to a satisfactory level and then corrected the valve timing. Compression was still very long. That itself would have killed some 2bhp.
Anyways, even with such a set-up it managed to do a 16sec run. Clocking the fastest timing in its class. I had a badly set-up clutch too and that led to a bad launch. Not being pregressive, launching the bike was dicey. The clutch felt like it was pulsating.
              Anyways the results.
In the Above 130cc upto 165cc 4-stroke - Group B class, my Fiero won the class.
My RTR ridden by my friend finished 3rd in the same class. Lost to a fully race built CBZ from bangalore. That CBZ was some 15-20kilos lighter than my 70-72kgs Fiero.

In the Above 210cc upto 260cc 4-Stroke Group B class, I finished 2nd in the class. Lost by a mere 0.07sec to a modified comet.
              Its a learning for me.
The Fiero is capable of 2 seconds better than 16 and so is the Karizma. The next time, lets see how it goes.
              I'll load the pics later.

              Cheers,
              Joel

I was there with Venu when he was discussing these things with you on phone, Saturday evening. He told me that the bike (Fiero) was taken to Hyd without a single test run in Bangalore. And the result is mind blowing despite of all these issues! Gr8 going Joel!

There is so much more refinement needed on the Fiero. The engine has another 30% potential left. It will be harnessed.

The uni had a few issues to be sorted and my friend was in no mind to bring it along. As a stop gap arrangement I quickly swapped it with my RTR. Anyways even with the Uni, I can already say what the result would have been like. .
