Mahi Racing Team India won the first race of the season at Philip Island, Australia in the World SuperSport (WSS) Class, with Kenan Sofuoglu.
Kenan Sofuoglu won the race over pole sitter Sam Lowes, after a race long battle. The shortened 15 lap race was a thrilling spectacle as the Yamaha battled the Kawasaki. The Indian team won the first race of the season and Sofuogle won his 32nd race. He is the reigning World Champion in WSS and is known for his aggressive overtaking maneuvers! The second Mahi Racing bike ridden by Fabien Foret finished fourth, giving the team a fantastic beginning to the new season.
On the way to winning the race Sofuoglu also set the new lap record at Philip Island, partly because the track has been relaid and also because he is just too fast!!
