No problem...let me know when you're ready (in future too), I'm always game for track riding.

On a different note, where have all the track riding enthusiasts of XBhp gone these days? I was hoping there would be atleast a couple of guys confirming their interest by now

      Re: MMSC TrackDay Invite

I am planning to hit the MMSC track as a newbie. Anyone interested to tag along? I am thinking of going the 'pay and practice' route and not wait for a group-organized track day. The MMSC site does not mention about the requirements (gear and bike), so can someone who has been to the track recently confirm this? Except for the full racing suit (leathers only?), I have everything else. Is there somewhere I can rent a leather suit? Bcos, I am not sure whether I will like and take to the track regularly.

Apex racing academy has posted registration invites for season 3 of its academy. 19-20 October 2013.

Anyone from Bangalore who'd want to tag along?

Wait, are you suggesting that "pay and practice" is perpetually open (apart from organized events, of course)? Or are there fixed public track days when anyone can come, pay and ride?

                  Re: MMSC TrackDay Invite

What bike preparations would be needed for a track day at mmsc?
I am thinking for having a trackday soon, maybe next year when I come down there for a tour.

But problem is I live in ahmedabad, I would have to travel a long distance + chennai doesn't seem too comfy for me (the communication problems I have heard, familiarity with places and all). Any other pointers which will help me in smooth transition?

this might help all north indians too
                  cheers
inputs from chennai residents will be highly appreciated

Will it not be easier for you to get to BIC for a track day? They regularly hold track days every 2-3 months.

Nah,as u said they hold track day 2-3 months, thats the trouble. I agree BIC is more decent but chennai would be way to go for us,for now. We are planning for a tour near south, so I suggested my ride buddies we do a trackday stop at chennai. I asked as it is on the way.

Plus, I always wanted to be a part of those one make races there since I was 16, now there is maybe a chance of track day and I want to seize it.

Sorry to say this bro, but climate right now is far from ideal for track riding, it has been raining for weeks now, chances of rain spoiling the trackday is high. I would advise you to wait till there is change in climate before you make the trip.

I have good news for you, I have been to the track(not a normal practice session) I can help you out on everything you need!

Thanks you so much for reply mate, I thought no one would be interested.

I will surely contact you first, when I come there maybe next year. Probably in jan or feb, help would be much appreciated.
Plus, I notice track is at outskirts of chennai, in Sriperumbudur.
I hope track is free and weather would be favorable for a track day then.

Does the track always free for a trackday when there is no competition or event?
Is it saturday and sunday or only sunday?
I read it on website it was something like 9am to 12am for 2 wheelers.

As far as I know the track is open to the public only on weekends, they do have events sometimes during weekends too, the best thing one could do is call the authorities in advance and ask them if the track is open to the public on the required date. Phone numbers will be available on the official site. My friend did tell me that there has been various changes made to the rule recently, so I am not sure about the timing. I can confirm that track riding requires full leather suit and other riding gears, not sure if they allow two piece suits for pay and practice session. Send me a PM or quote me in this thread while planning, I will let you know the things that you may need to confirm with the track authorities.
