    Paulo Goncalves, Team HRC said:
“This stage was great, I started in the front, and that’s always difficult as it’s very easy to lose time as you open the road. I pushed very hard, to stay at the front of the race. I’m very happy, of course, with my result today. I never stopped pushing until the finish. This stage was very hard, mud, stones, and many bumps, unbelievably hard, but I won it and that’s great.”
Team Sherco TVS Rider Alain Duclos managed to finish 7th with overall ranking at 9th Place while the other rider Fabian Planet finished 19th.

CS Santosh finished the Stage 7 at 66th Place on the timing sheet. Team HRC’s Joan Barreda continues to hold the overall lead but Coma is just six and a half minutes behind.

CS Santosh - KTM - First Indian to participate in Dakar currently in 42nd position

THE STAGE OF THE DAY: IQUIQUE - CALAMA
For this farewell session to the Atacama Desert, all the competitors will come together once again for the special stage, with fifty-odd kilometres over sand and dunes. They should revel in these sensations because the next stage will put both drivers and their teams into much less comfortable positions. The routes have suffered the rages of time and will be equally harsh on them.

          TVS Racing Report -

KTM\'s Marc Coma rode a steady race to hold on to his first place in the rally, but Goncalves on the Honda cut down the gap to five and a half seconds. TVS Sherco rider Alain Duclos was hit by technical problems and ended the hopes of the Indian manufacturer\'s top ten finish now in 22nd place after stage 9. His teammate Fabien Planet stopped to help him out during the stage and himself dropped into 32nd position as a result. India\'s maiden Dakar rider CS Santosh rode a strong day to maintain his 42nd position overall on board his KTM.
