• StartUp in 2W Rally

Hi All,

I am not a racer, but I enjoy high speed on rural roads (less tarmac, more potholes) on my RX 135 and Karizma.
I find it fun to ride in such conditions against time.
I am from Mumbai looking into some less challenging rallies to have a start and experience.
Went through FMSCI regulations.
I am looking for guidance and pointers.

1. which rally is recommended for starters? (Gulf Monsoon Scooter Rally, nope its only for scooters )
2. what preparation one is supposed to consider?
3. which all factors are to be considered and mastered while practicing?
4. any site or link to article which can elaborate rallies in detail.

Thanks.

Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

What motorcycle rallies are organised in India?

I have been looking for information on motorcycle rallies organised in India since quite a while but can't find much over Internet. I found information about Raiddehimalayas and bit about RE Ridermania. Ridermania more seems to be festival.

What are the rallies organised other than Raiddehimalayas?

What are their rally routes and categories?

In what season they are being organised?

What are the rules and regulations to participate as a team and as well as Individual?

Who are the organisers?

What are their level of difficulties?

I mean i need almost all info about the rallies. There is not much information over internet about this. Xbhp could write a article about this.

Thanks in advance.. [emoji4]

Well i am not part of this circuit. So i can provide very limited information. Other than the Raid, the other big rally is the Desert Storm. An xBhpian participated in this, you can read about it here - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorspo...rm-2016-a.html

A friend of mine participated in the last Raid, and i have asked him to reply here. But he is a lazy bugger, so no clue when you will get info from him

You also have the Sajoba Rally in Himachal and in the western ghats you have the Pune monsoon rally. In Lucknow recently, i saw posts of some rally race which happened there, don't remember the name though. Around Hyderabad as well they have rally races, which got highlighted last year with the participants jailed overnight for racing! There is a thread for that as well around here.

There are a lot of things happening around the country on a big and small scale. Unfortunately, since i am not a dirt rider i have never bothered finding out more information about all of this. But you are right, xBhp should do an article for people who want to get into the sport. A beginner's handbook sort of thing.

Tagging Pizzaboi here, since he will have much more information about this genre of motorcycling! You can check out his thread about his work here - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorspo...rack-days.html

----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

Then there is also the Dakshin Dare from Bangalore to Goa.

The Mughal Rally as well. Though i am unsure if bikes are allowed there.

I knew about desert storm. But was not sure if motorcycles are allowed because all i saw was xuvs, thars and gypsies in their posters. And mahindra advertising xuv winning the desert storm.
I think motorcycles are allowed in mughal rally because I saw a thread about mughal rally on xbhp.. It was about a guy from west bengal who won the rally.
