  • Trackday @ Kari Motorspeedway, Coimbatore- 4th April Weekend‏

    Hi Guys,

We're doing a trackday at Coimbatore this April 4th weekend and need a minimum of 15 participants in order to make it happen, the more the better.

Below is the notice from Anand who (as always) is organizing the event. If interested, please let either Anand or I know as soon as possible

    Dates : April 4th/5th
Motorcycle Truck Departure : April 3rd noon.
    Venue : Kari Motorspeedway, Coimbatore

    Rates :

    15 to 19 riders Signup : Rs3566/head
    20 to 24 riders Signup : Rs2748/head
    25 to 29 riders Signup : Rs2236/head

This includes two exclusive days at Kari track with medical and marshalls. Please dont be intimidated by the thought of riding on a race track, its perfectly safe as long as you stick to the rules. There will be seperate sessions for beginners, advanced riders and superbikes. Anand and I will be happy to ride with you guys, we'll give you tips and overall we'll help you improve your riding skills. Trust me, it will be well worth it.

The costs above does not include bike transport, transport for yourself, fuel, spares and stay.

    All are welcome!

Please sign up asap since we only have two weeks to go.

No track time is available after these dates this year since the track is booked for the national championship and other racing events.

    Thanks!

Thanks SKSy, it would be great to have you there.

FYI, The track rent rates are a little higher than normal because unlike normal 'pay and practice', the track is booked exclusively for this trackday with marshalls and medical and the cost shared amongst the riders. Its important we get a good head count so the cost per head goes down.

For riders from bangalore, we will provide transport for your bikes by truck through our trusted bike transporter, so bikes will be absolutely safe. There is limited space though, so please book yours asap incase you need bike transport. The transport costs will be around 2k per head to the track and back to bangalore. You can always ride down to the track if you cant afford the transport.

PM me if you're interested and we'll take it from there

I also have a message for you riders and racing enthusiasts. One and a half years ago i was a nobody with nothing but a dream to race and discover how good i could be. I had never seen the race track before then and used to satisfy my urge by riding like a maniac on the streets. My friend Anand introduced me to the track and that was our first trackday. I was immediately hooked and thats where it started for me. I wanted to see how close i could get to the top racers in our country. Today i'm one of them, I stuck it out, worked hard and followed my dream and the sense of achievement is a great feeling, the track changed my life.

You could be just like me and this is your chance to discover yourself. Nothing worthwhile in life comes easy, sometimes you have to step out and take a risk. Whether you're a racing enthusiast and always wondered how good you could be or whether you're just looking to improve your riding skills, you couldnt get a better opportunity than this.

Are you upto it? Your future is in your hands

@killer - This is how my scene was also a year ago when I came down to the track for a casual track day at Kari on my Fiero. Somehow I've come this far and I have a long way to go before I get to the stars. Nevertheless a trackday could change a lot of things in your life.
I had no clue if I'll take this up pretty seriously, but I did.
When you attend your first track day, you'll go back home with only 2 thoughts,
          1. That u really wanna get back soon coz u got the right kicks
          2. Found it too hectic, dangerous and complex that you dont wanna come back again. Most likely this happens coz of a bad experience or lack of riding skills.

              Killer,

I am wondering if there is possibility of renting a bike in Coimbatore for the trackday. I am in pune and can fly to Coimbatore if renting a decent bike in Coimbatore will be possible for reasonable rate

Samy - i'm afraid there are not bikes for rent at the track. If you do have contacts in the city you might be able to find someone willing to rent out a bike, however i personally dont know anyone, sorry i couldnt be of more help.

@Killer: Fantastic initiative buddy ! Would have loved to join but not the bike that I currently own, maybe next year sometime I'd have a better handling set of wheels!

Keeping my eyes peeled to this thread for further developments.

PS: Would love to come down to see the Trackday in action though. That should be possible rite?

                    Yes praful you can come

Ok guys we're pressed for time here so i need to start seeing confirmations, all responses so far have been tentative at best.

So do i take it that out of 12000+ members on this forum, NOBODY is interested? None of you think it would be worth your while to improve your riding skills on a race track under professional guidance? Do you guys realize how much it would cost to experience the same thing abroad?
