Marquez on pole and Dovi ninth on grid -half the job done i think for Marquez specially on the tight Valencia circuit but never say never.Zarco second and Iannone completing the front row.Hope the race goes down to the wire.

Rossi was right in 2015 that MM was toying with him but, he made a mistake voicing his opinion.
This time Lorenzo handled Dovi very well and ensured that MM is safe. How can he not see what's going on around him.

These controversies aside, MM may well go on to become the greatest in the history of MotoGP.

I think Marc deserved the title for the save he did on the slide with his elbow ,i mean that guy is a risk taker and a talent bar none.Though i was rooting for Dovi ,Marc deserved the title i feel.
Moto 2 -Great finish for KTM with a win and third place for Olivera and Binder while Morbidelli finished second.

                    LOL

you do realise that dovi simply being ahead of JL wouldn't have been enough. to win the title, dovi HAD to win, and marc HAD to DNF ?...and if you paid attention to the riders' race pace, you must have noticed dovi didnt have that much pace today. he himself said he was totally on the limit to maintain any decent pace (because of which he crashed out) and still he wasn't quite able to pass JL by himself, let alone go ahead, catch the lead group, pass MM, zarco and dani and win the race and hope MM crashes out behind him..as much as i wanted dovi to win the title, it was not possible today even if MM had crashed, given the fact that dovi crashed out, after JL did, entirely on his own because of being over the limit to somehow manage a competent race pace...so really, god knows how JL not letting dovi through "ensured MM safety" lol.

also, JL said in the pre-event PC that he wouldn't help dovi pass himself just for the sake of it. he'd do it only if dovi had a real chance of winning the race and/or if MM was to have a DNF mid-race somehow. to anyone who doesn't want team orders to become religiously quintessential and necessary to follow in motogp, JL's stand should be acceptable..do i wish he'd let dovi through just for the sake of it ? yes, maybe he should have just to respect his team orders, but that would have been just a polite formality of no real consequence.

but of course, conspiracy theories exist because there's always some people adamant about maintaining and believing in their narrative. disappointed to know an otherwise respectable xbhp user like you still believing in such crap..

in any case, great race, and congrats to MM..and also to dovi for such a memorable and great season and in particular for two races where he beat MM in the last corner..

                      Hey! Watch your mouth.

Watch the race once again and come back here. Dovi had more pace at the beginning of the race and Lorenzo was holding him off.
Do you think that Ducati is foolish to send 7-8 text messages to Lorenzo in the middle of the race and mention -1 on the pit board as well?

If Dovi was close to the front and MM had crashed, what would have happened? Pedrosa and Zarco were the best riders today but, you never know what's gonna happen in racing.
If you think mind games don't exist in MotoGP, you are too naive.

Didn't Lorenzo lose concentration and crash when he was in the lead when he tried to check the dashboard sometime ago?
Unlike Rossi or MM, he isn't a supercomputer.

So, he was waiting for MM to crash and then, hunt down Ped and Zarco. After that, he would allow Dovi to pass through? Wow! Great strategy!

                        All Done and dusted.

The Championship remains in Spain, if you know what I mean.

Championship was kind of over in Philip Island i suppose. But Dovi behind Marc would have been ideal for Dovi, I mean putting pressure on Marquez. And Dovi did have pace more that then Marquez in some laps for sure.
Infact, Lorenzo was a tad slower than the first 3 atleast in first 5 laps.
And Dovi's Fastest lap was 1'31.777. Faster than Dani, Zarco was 1'31.576, but dani still overtook him. So pretty much anything could have happened

I am not sure Dovi would win and Marc for sure would crash, just that rider in the front could have made mistake, Dovi might have had a fighting chance.

Also, its Valencia, tight as ever, Dovi tried and a valiant effort.

All in all Good Year for Ducati and Honda. Some Good races for KTM and Suzukis as well.

                        Yamahas, Meh.

And all these points are more opinions more not conspiracy theories so everyone here is entitled to have.

What else, ..... Let me think

I did watch his post-race interview. He is too good a person to blame anyone else but, himself. Of course, 21 points deficit is an impossible task but, he was never given a chance to put himself in that position. Zarco's soft tyres could have gone off and Ped would have suffered from wheel spin or whatever.
Not to mention that MM's engine blew up earlier this year.

Notice how much screen time was given to Ducati crew/pits in the middle of a race. It clearly explains what Lorenzo should have done.

                            Now, how close was MM?
This much. He is not a human being.

He never had the pace to challenge for the win no and he had to win!

I rather take the word of Dovi and Lorenzo who are the riders involved and an ex-rider like Spies and a noted journalist like Dennis Noyes, than internet conspiracy theorists

Of course, it's a free world and everybody is entitled to his/her thoughts and opinions.

Just letting you know, noted commentators/journalists Keith Heuwen, Julian Ryder and Mat Oxley are on my side - Lorenzo should have allowed Dovi to pass through.
