  • FMSCI national motorcycle championship

I could not find any post regarding this topic soo decided to put one up. Soo what is the national motorcycle championship? It consists of primarily 3 categories,
    1. Group D- this is where mainly beginner or intermediate riders perform, it's a pure stock category where the bike straight from the road is pitted vs one and another , with no performance or engine mods done . It's 150cc stock category, mainly r15 and CBR 150 run in this category

    2. Group C- this category is where the bikes are bored up to 165cc where mods are allowed but only Indian made mods ,no parts from outside the country, this segment consists of teams of Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki factory racing(new entrant), and TVS factory racing.

    3. Group B- this is the ultimate group of 150cc bikes bored up to 165 cc again but with all sorts of mods allowed right from usd forks, race cams , race ecu, imported wheels, brakes, etc basically parts can be procured from other countries. These bikes are usually 26-32bhp range and is very competitive.

    4. Group B(300-400) category- this is a relatively new category started last year, where bikes of 300-400cc are pitted vs one and another and the mods are again free for all with no restrictions. This category is usually dominated by KTMs with the exception of Yamaha r3,ninja 300 and now with the new benelli tornado 302.

The tyres are provided by mrf for all races, also there is something called one make, where the same bikes which are modded are pitted vs one and another , example: Honda one make is a cup which only consists of Honda CBR 250rs which are modded and prepped by the HRC team. Similarly with TVS with Apache 200 and Suzuki with their gixxer one make. If I'm not wrong a few members from xbhp participated in the one makes. I am personally managing a team called gp racing with 3-4 group ds, 2 group c and one group B Yamaha and a group 300-400 category a KTM. RC 390 . Will post some pictures of our next practise session maybe in a few weeks. The season starts in the 1st or 2nd week of June with 5 rounds taking place at Madras and Coimbatore. Personally as a team not expecting too much due to lack of sponsorship support and funds but next year hopeful get the backing of sun motors Yamaha . It's not a cheap sports, various funds is needed for transport , R & D, spares, track time, entry fees, etc. If I have missed out anything please add on.
