End of Day 1 - A short stage -Results from an Indian perspective

Team Hero Rally Motorsports
C.S.Santhosh finished in an amazing 13th place
Oriol Mena finished in 22nd place.
Joaquim Rodrigues crashed out of the race ,luckily no major injuries.

Team Sherco TVS Rally Factory
Aravind K Prabhakar finished 30th.
Juan Pedrero finished 25th.
Adrien Metge finished 24th.


End of Day 2 -

Team Hero
Santhosh finished 29th,overall 28th.
Mena finished 27th ,overall 27th.

Team Sherco TVS
Aravind KP finished 40th ,overall 32nd.
Juan Pedrero finished 23nd,overall 22nd.
Adrien Metge had a fall and is out of the race.


End of Day 3 -

Team Hero
C.S.Santhosh finished 98th due to lack of fuel ,so overall 56th .
Oriol Mena finished 12th ,overall 19th.

Team Sherco TVS
Aravind KP finished 29th ,overall 29th.
Juan Pedrero finished 16th ,overall 20th.

Stage 8
After Aravind KP of TVS Sherco team had a fall and broke his ankle on stage 5 , C S Santosh of Hero team, the lone Indian rider left in the race has slowly risen to 38th position at the end of stage 8 .
Oriol Mena of Hero team has had a great race to be in 14th position while the lone TVS Sherco team rider left running Juan Pedrero is in 30th position.
Stage 9 was cancelled due to weather conditions.

Stage 10

Hero team
Oriol Mena finishes the stage in a commendable 4th position and is overall in 14th position .
Santosh finished the stage in 44th position due to losing time after a crash to stay in overall 40th position.

TVS Sherco team
Juan Pedrero finished the stage in 10th position to be in 17th position in overall standings.

Mathais Walkner of KTM Redbull Racing team is the overall leader in motorcycle category.

Tomorrow Stage 11 is going to be a tough marathon stage.

Stage 12 - Cancelled for bikes due to weather conditions.

Stage 13 - Penultimate stage

TVS Sherco team
Juan Pedrero had a fantastic race to finish the stage in 5th position and rose to 11th position in overall standings.

Hero team
Oriol Mena finished in 8th to retain 8th in overall standings.
Santhosh rode a safe and steady race to finish in 33rd and is in 34th position overall.

Overall bike leader Matthais Walkner (KTM) rode a steady race to finish in 4th with a 22 min lead over Kevin Benavides (Honda) with teammate Toby Price (KTM) in 3rd 27 min behind and was also the winner of stage 13.
Stage 14 the last stage is a short one ,so most should play it safe and maintain their positions.

Finally Dakar 2018 reaches the end with creditable finishes for the riders left over in the Indian teams ,
Overall winner - Matthias Walkner (KTM) about 16 min ahead of Kevin Benavedes (Honda) and in 3rd is Toby Price about 23 mins behind the winner.

Hero team
Oriol Mena finished in a fantastic 7th place
CS Santosh finished in 34th place to also become a 3 time finisher which in itself is quite an achievement considering only about 85 finished out of the 160 starters.

TVS Sherco team
Juan Pedrero the lone surviving rider from the team finished in 11thplace ,a great result for the team and rider.
