The 2019 Dakar is less than a month away and with at least 2 Indian manufacturers and 2 Indian riders participating in one of the toughest Rally Raids in the world a thread dedicated to it is a must and here is the official Dakar preview.

The preparation for the Dakar starts as soon as the previous Dakar ends ,as can be seen in the preparation of the KTM team for Dakar 2019 ,one of the favorites with 3 former Dakar winners in the team .

TVS Racing is the other Indian team competing in the 2019 Dakar with a 4 member team of Aravind K P ( India), the Metge brothers Michael and Adrien (France) and Lorenzo Santolina (Spain) .

Stage 1 of Dakar 2019 - Flag off with a 247 km liaison and a short 85 km special prepared the riders for the longer stages to follow . The standings after stage 1 1. Hero team - Oriol Mena - 14th . C S Santhosh - 20th. J Rodrigues - 23rd. 2. Sherco TVS team Michael Metge - 12th. Adrien Metge - 24th. L Santolino - 25th. Aravind K P - 70th. Tomorrow will be a long stage of 552 km with a special stage of 342km.

KTM keeps it's winning run intact with Toby Price, in-spite of an injured wrist managing to take top spot. Both Honda and Husqvarna had the chance to upset KTM this year but the KTM juggernaut rolls on at Dakar .Both Hero and TVS had a good run with top 10 and 20 finish . Aravind KP finally has a Dakar finish to his name after the disappointment last 2 years. So now some videos to look at till Dakar 2020 .
