Guys just got back from the race ... It was a great experience ... India's very own K. Rajini stood on the podium by doing a 3rd place in Race 2. He is the first indian to step on a FIM podium.

There was another guy Jagan who did a 3rd place in the UAM race (riding Stunner). More on this later as i'm watchin the motogp now.

Everybody keep glued to your tele sets, might get to see some race clips in the news channels.

was awesome to see K.Rajini make it to the podium. Felt sad for Preetham though, DNF for both the races probably due to mechanical issues..overall a gr8 experience.

they are 4strokes ... group b spec bikes. they would do 125kmph tops. the guys who competed here take part in about 30+ races in a year. the rider who finished 3rd in race 2, Hafiz is just 14 yrs old.

I think thats qualifying timings. Lap time during the race was better..

Better ... u mean to say they were even faster during the race ? Decha's was the fastest during a 16 lap race. his average pace was 01.46.15.

Alisha hardly rode the race. in race 1 she came into the pits on the second lap and in race 2 she came in like 3rd or 4th lap (not sure on that though). I know it takes a lot'a courage and grit to ride a race bike in track. But her entry was like "i have a 600cc and i like to flaunt my ride".

Yeah.. He did a 1:44 lap during Race 1 rite?
Any idea what happened to Preetham's bike ?

Preetham went off the track in Race 1. Later he retired due to what RRR said was a suspension problem. Race 2, he was fighting for 3 laps and then slowed the pace.
Decha of Team Petronas Yamaha Malaysia did a best of 1:44.xx and broke the track lap record for a 600cc 4-stroke.
Rajini was in full form and did an amazing job. His pace during the race and practise was the same. He did low 1:47s.
His 1:47 itself makes him the fastest Indian and during practise last week I rememeber him saying that it was nothing great and he was merely hoping to finish in the mid of the pack. Somewhere 5th atleast. He knew the competition was stiff but he simply gave his best. To his own surprise, he finished 3rd in the 2nd race. It was great to see an Indian on the podium.
Jagan also did a fantastic job in the 125cc Stunner round - race 2.
Overall, it was a great event and the efforts by our fellow racers were simply stunning. Everybody gave their best!
