  • Nitro RC racing : Bangalore

Hi guys, thought I should give you some headsup on this one of a kind, needless to say, THE first event at Bangalore.

    When : 11th oct 15:50

Where : PIT STOP RACING , JP NAGAR 7th Phase, BANGALORE

What is all about : An event organised by MODEL ART for all the RC nitro car/buggy/truggy owners to realize its real potential on a track.

Whom to get in touch : Suresh 9448270820/9448142771.

What would it cost you to participate : 200 bucks for such a good initiative is nothing.

I would be racing on my 2.8 bhp Thunder tiger ST1, a stadium truck which has a proven track record across the globe. Drop in even if not competing.

Mods please drop this thread in the correct category if not in one.

I got a notification on saturday and I posted this ASAP. Guess the approval took some time. Nevertheless, dont worry guys, you didnt miss anything. You can always drop in and have quality fun at this place.

I consider this a boon to people who are keen on picking up this hobby. I remember mixing my own fuel, buying tons of spares and equipment just to get the truck running. But now, all you need is pay some minimal amount and you get to chose from the various onroad, off-road and electric cars which are tanked up, charged and ready to run . The marshalls will hand you over the remote and you dont even have to touch the car or worry about its maintainence(importantly). There are people to help you out in any which ways. There are three tracks for specific cars.

Dude you wait for something to happen for "better utilization of weekend"? Give me a break

I would keep you guys posted as and when any race event happens here.

^ This would take some time as the number of guys owning these bikes are comparitively less. But that doesnt prevent one from getting his bike to practise.

Guys, here's a video of the first race of yesterday. The monster truck class, more pics and videos to follow

Hi Guys, I was waiting for a friend of mine for some pics.

There were 12-13 participants in various classes namely, monster truck, buggy and truggy. As said, I took part in the 3 part 4 lap race with my Thunder tiger ST1 in the buggy class. It was fun to see people tuning their machines and the sounds of engines revving above 20k rpm was music to ears. Heaven to a nitro head if you ask me.

End of the day, I was placed 2nd overall in the buggy class. But my truggy deserved the first place for the kind of machine it is.

Eagerly awaiting the next round. Btw, who's up for some practise session this weekend?

I think your truggy costs in the region of 40K or so in the US. A high end racer eh?
I used to have a buggy myself (a Nikko) but that was a battery-powered one and not for racing I guess.

What fuel do you put into the tank?

Edit : Does the engine require maintenance/rebuilds/that sort of stuff? The website claims redlining of 30K rpm!

^ The one which I have is used by the professional racers abroad. A higher compression set up and with a stricter fuel carrying rules.

I used to mix my own fuel, a 20% nitro fuel composed of methanol, nitro methane and castor oil, before ready to use fuel was commerically available. It was a pain to replace the glow plugs, charge all the batteries, change the starter springs etc etc. But its all that pain and effort which makes this hobby worth it. There's nothing equal to see and hear a perfectly tuned car revving like nuts doing 70-80kmph, nothing.

Yes the engine requires regular maintainence, ideally after each run.
