Well I guess its been late, but still never too late.

Last April 2009, the MOTORIST group led by Eugine (sorry if I have wrongly spelled) organised a Rally on safe riding followed by Motocross Race (2-strokes and 4 strokes). All the bikers were assembled at about 8am in the morning at Jingkieng Football ground with their machines ranging from scooty to Royal Enfields. I was then with my younger cousin, Jonathan and Brandon my buddy and it was our first participation in any rally and the first time heading to watch the motocross. We were addressed a short speech in the ground and then took off the rally with about 100 bikers through the streets of Shillong. We took the G.S. Road for about 25 kms and halted near Umiam lake where the Race was supposed to be held.

I still do remember Owangdi and Branden rehearsing before the race with crowds eyeing on them. But it was worth the practice because both took off with the 2nd and 3rd place respectively in the 4Stroke drag. The only condition unfavouring both our riders were the tyres. Both were riding with normal-thread tyres and were not intended for off-road race. But it was amazing to see both skilfully maneuvering and tackling the dusty and slippery track. The rider who took off with the 1st position had what many called "Chocolate tyres" with a good grip on the ground thereby giving an edge on turnings.

This was the day I first met Conrad/Bink/Lilmc, Owangdi, Branden, Brian, Derick, Kim, Ashim and the rest of the xbhp group members and other riders from Shillong. Even though I had registered xbhp since 2005 when i first got my discover, I was inactive and never thought that members from Shillong were riding together. And by each passing day, I now feel that "xbhp" is a part and parcel of my life just as biking itself.

Well I guess thats enough of talks and emotions else I might end up with my History with xbhp. hehehe

So enjoy the Pics of the rally cum motocross!

          Thanks guys!

Another event is coming up on the 27th February 2010. So Gear up for the 7th Super Cross Series. We have these Motocross every year and sometimes even twice or thrice in one year. Thanks to the organisers.

Last event our guys were beaten by tyres. So I guess they are already getting ready for it to grap the 1st place. This time, we will also be introducing chest guards for our riders for safety as well.

Anyone ready to sponsor our riders are most welcomed.

            Great event! Nice show!

But I am aghast to see that in such a professionally managed event riders were allowed to thrash the track & bike without full protective gears!
Some of the riders were not wearing the most basic of protection i.e., gloves!

Overall, it must have been a nice experience for all who attended, witnessed and experienced the event!

Thanks guys. Thanks to the photographers, don't know how many hands actually handled the cam.... I am just the uploader.

As for the safety point, I felt the same. Although there were few riders putting on full safety gears, most were not prepared for any casualty. The organisers should encourage on wearing safety gears while competing in the race. I hope this time they would to minimise injury to riders and criticism as well. But anyway, as stated earlier we shall be introducting custom chestguards for the participants from xbhp along with some other safety gears.

Yup with the Bajaj fans. Moreover, what option do we have in the 4-strokes category other than bajaj pulsars 180, 200 and 220 . My FZ & other 150s would have to be fully customised right from air filters to tyres if I am not aiming for the last place..... hehehe

And sure would take full coverage of the upcoming Super Cross Series.
