  • Kawasaki Recalls 2009 / 2010 Ninja 650 R

Kawasaki is recalling 676 Ninja 650 R motorcycles due to linkage/pedal issues.

On certain model 2009 EX650 C9F/Fl and certain 2010 EX650 CAF/FL Ninja 650 motorcycles, the right rear portion of the lower cowling can interfere with the operator's foot while in the process of applying the rear brake.

If this happens, the rider can be distracted, and possibly crash.

Dealers will install an updated footrest guard and fairing bracket free of charge. The safety recall is expected to begin on or before July 19, 2010.

no indian law mandates a product to be recalled for a defect. this is not the case in other countries.

( i may be wrong but) For example all the royal enfield motorcycles qualifies for re calls for some defect or the other and other indian motorcycles are no exception, but this has never happened in india.

we could take a recall from a company as a positive sign on their commitment to their product rather than on a negative note.

+10 I agree to what you said. I wish Indian companies start showing responsibility.

And yes, my perception about Recalls is that 'a company is taking responsibility' which is a positive thing.

Of course, companies regularly trying new products/ innovations, are most likely be recalling their products.
