Just consider it as a next step(a la RTR:Level 2) in extracting more performance from the motor, that's it.

Correct. My figure of 10k was a worst case scenario. So the question remains. When there's a "better performing" variant priced so close to the old 160, why should they retain the old 160? How do they expect to sell any old 160? That contradicts the answer to one of the other questions, where he says the old 160 will not be phased out. So this "Hyper Edge" could very well be a 200+ rite?Originally posted by chicane1879 View PostWhat makes you think they will launch a variant priced so much higher.

Hyper edge, my rrrrrrr!
and BTW .. i guess its similar to Honda's Unicorn and Dazzler strategy, i don't think TVS will enter the 200CC+ mark so early ..

This guy only confirmed that such a bike exists, and is being tested and prepared for launch. Otherwise, everything else is responded with "no comments" or "wait for press announcement".
Why doesn't he give more clues about what this bike is about? It could be about a Design upgrade, Technicals upgrade, convenience upgrade etc.
He can disclose, because one can't expect many changes now, that its being released on 10th Sept.---

i don't see this thread serving any constructive purpose.
i'm not saying the information isn't genuine...
just that the conversation with TVS doesn't clarify squat!
at the end of it we can't even be sure if the bike will be a 160cc.
no specs revealed... nothing informative!
every post is just going to be speculation or an RTR upgrade wishlist.
will it be 200cc??
or 250cc??
will it put out 20bhp?
or 27bhp?
is it oil cooled?
or oil cooler?
oil is cooled?
liquid cooled?

Just Speculating...
It "might" be the 200+cc RTR frm TVS...
In that interview amidst "No comments" and "Press release"
, thats giving me a slight hint of a bigger bike...
e.g.
(1) "No comments" on the code name of RTR 160 Hyper edge...(it might just be RTR HYPER EDGE)
(2)No phasing out of RTR 160...(That means 160 and 160Fi will stay, and if they really care for "Performance Enthusiasts"
, they wont introduce another 160cc bike
)
(3)Not a "single" hint on price, specs etc...(well if they did that, than our "most frequent upgrader" BAJAJ
might introduce its Pulsar220-H, (Hyper Edge)
next week)

So its official.. some upgrade is definitely on the cards.Originally posted by sunilg View PostManan's Conversation with Head Motorcycle Group of TVS Mr. Arun Siddharth
Hi Sid,
It has been great to know that TVS has yet again got ready to delight the
customers of the 150 and above segment with it's Apache 160 Hyper Edge.
Request you to please let know some of the query that I would have to
share with the world
1. Do we really have something like Apache 160 Hyper Edge in the
making?
Yes
Like the previous RTR series, the upgrades will be positioned as performance machines as well.Originally posted by sunilg View Post8. There has been lot of speculations and expectations about performance of the coming bikes of TVS, will this be an aswer to the
customers' expectations?
All RTR franchise vehicles are meant for the Performance enthusiast.
9. What is the future vision of TVS Racing for Apache RTR Series, as TVS has in recent past has been able to change it's perception
from conservative commuter bike company to performance lovers' choice?
TVS Racing will continue to be the leader in developing the RTR range of motorcycles as RTR is a FOR THE RACER , BY THE RACER brand
Originally posted by sunilg View Post12. Will this varient of Apache also focus on the style seekers?
No RTR brand is focussed for ONLY PERFORMANCE ENTHUSIASTS. but it'll have contemporary Stylish accents to make it look Race
Sporty
Hmm.. excusivity sells actually.
Focus on performance is definitely welcome.
But even a plastic fairing, FAT tyres, does the trick for many.

Always be ready (get geared) to fall and then think of sitting on the motorcycle.

i am ready to pay advance if i get the tech specs.Originally posted by Puneet1 View PostRTR was due for an update .
i hope all new parts can be put on us present owner's bikes
@renny: You(infact any RTR owner) should not worry about FE (ultimately, that fuel guage)buddy, you are getting less than Carb version. and those kits are used by racing team on carb versions ONLY.Originally posted by rennycornelius View PostHYPER EDGE....

Do i smell redesigned 3 valve head from the SRV125, forged piston,re tuned exhaust, and engine producing 18.65PS???
If yes, yamaha R15 should hold it's pants tightly.
Where the heck are those kits????
There's lot to it other than saddle....
