I think along with education for a prospective motorcyclist, we also need education for city cops and people in media houses.

For media houses, it'll be pretty useless, they just want 'chatpata' and 'taaza' and 'braking news' [pun intended]. Who cares if there's a difference between a 'poser' and 'biker'? Danderous stuff sells.

But for city cops? I think they should give recognition to xbhp in every city (and xbhp should be careful in picking its members) and learn to recognize motorcycling as a lifestyle.

Sounds dream-land stuff, but maybe we need to do this. And get stricter with offenders.
    You get the point?? :D

If you ask me, there is no point, and rather no possible means, to hand pick members. It is after all a forum for all those who share this common passion of biking. Xbhp logo or not, the cops will stop you and me for checking our credentials.

All I can say is we are doing our part in the best way we can, i.e. by wearing proper riding gear and driving in a more responsible way. But these buggers take our riding gear to be show off stuff, copy us and inturn bring a bad name to the whole community.

Would also like to say that the media should also not go about giving free publicity to the likes of these hooligans. There have been numerous discussions over the need of exercising restrain at the media's end. By broadcasting the clips all over the channels and saying that the cops are not capable of taking any action is rather encouraging these buggers!!

I was on the same route the very next morning the day this incident took place and was stopped by a cop opposite Hanuman mandir for checking of papers and all. I was really tempted to ask that constable that thanks for waking up dude, but I'm damn sure they aren't coming back now
