The news title is incomplete.
It should be
We all know what happens to the brands that pack up and leave the country.Piaggio Gets Euro 45mn Loan, Set to Re-Enter India to blow up the amount and be bankrupt and debt-ridden again
They lose all respect and faith of the people.
Nobody even wants to give them a shot.
The people feel that the brands can pack up and leave anytime.
A living example of this is LML.
It packed up and left.
Now its back with its scooters, but nobody bothers.
Another proof(but on 4 wheels) is Premier or PAL as we know it.
The Rio is a decent product but, well, nobody wants to even consider it.
So piaggio, stay away.

The 'Rio' is a Chinese product, assembled by Premier. Also expecting it to sell well without any 'visible' Sales and Service network, would be highly optimistic.
Creating an extensive sales and service network would be the real challenge for Piaggio.

Piaggio is not LML so it would be unfair to label them thus. If LML was coming back with a product, then yes, but this is Piaggio coming back on its own.Originally posted by MT01 View PostA living example of this is LML.

The Italian brand makes beautiful scooters - I would definitely buy one if they are like anything which is sold abroad. And I am not really too stuck up on the 'cc's' of the scooter, which is a highly over-rated element in India anyway.
