I agree. Damn guys, where's the humanity? Police did the right thing... Its R1s and CBRs we're talking about. These bikes can kill fools & wise alike!

BTW I think cops should start coming in plain clothes... Overtake, brake & intercept them in groups of 2-3 for each robber.
This way, robbers won't be alerted & won't make a run for it, until its too late...

@lockhrt999: But, the news never mentioned Pune? Nor did you quote someone...?

What's this got to do with stealing bikes? Anyway i wont comment on this subject since its a touchy affair... and i have huge amount of respect for those brave cops.... so please dont doubt me on this.

What's stupid is sitting and watching them ride away. There are other ways of catching them like barricading the roads...

UK Law enforcing units (and brits) value individual's life, no matter who is he and what he does. That's why there is no dead penalty for any crime in UK, be it shoplifting or planned terrorism. A criminal spend only 7 years in prison if he gets a life sentence (they count days and night as two days) and all this still works in favour of crime stoppers coz they have effective ways of tackling situations and events so even if you sneak out of one parameter, you will be nicked in the second one. Therefore for police, letting go the ruthless riders was much appropriate action, totally made in the interest of safety of those criminals and other road users.

Every BIKE has a lot of speed in it. The trick is getting the speed out of it.

with the UK police making such a rule in their policy means that the thief will be getting courage that they can do more thefts without wearing crash helmets and the police will not chase them as they are not wearing any helmets.....

in india these kind of rules would be surely praised as here mostly people avoid wearing the helmets & dont want to get caught in the hands of police.
