  • Bajaj and TVS Motors Bull Fight in India and Overseas

TVS Motors and Bajaj Auto are the leading two-wheeler manufacturers in India. Bajaj Auto also holds an upper hand in the Indian market with its three-wheeler manufacturing capacity. Now TVS Motors is also planning to introduce LPG driven three-wheelers in the Indian market to grab larger market share.

"We are hoping to get 20 per cent share of the new market that has come up now. However, capacity is the only major constraint for us to cater to the new huge demand that is set to emerge following the issue of new permits," president (Marketing) HS Goindi said. He also said that it will take some time for the permit holders to tie up with finance and finally make a purchase which will be enough for the company to be geared up for the demand.

On the other hand, the auto giants are also neck to neck in the overseas markets. TVS Motors has already entered the Brazilian market with its tie up with Dafra to build Apache RTR model for the Brazilian markets. Bajaj is also planning to enter the Brazilian market with its Austrian partner KTM. KTM will be leading partner in this business venture which intends to set up manufacturing for 125 cc to 350 cc bikes in Brazil.

TVS has a lot to catch up and it doesn't have a good partner in overseas market (meaning with good technical know how), which makes it that much difficult for TVS to succeed in overseas market. But, TVS is already present in Indonesian market (I guess!!) and is now looking at other markets. Overall.. cheers to these two Indian manufacturers.
