  • New Hero Honda Achiever Launched

Hero Group and Honda cooperation may be under strain, but the company is still ready to compete strongly in the domestic market. Hero Honda has introduced the new Hero Honda Achiever which is an upgraded model of the existing variant. The new upgraded variant comes with structural changes as well as cosmetic changes in design and style.

There is a new black colour engine cover and foot rests along with improved graphic design including sticker changes. The new avatar also comes with 5-spoke black alloy wheels and puncture resistant tuff up tube. It is now powered by powerful and efficient engine of 150cc with ATFT Technology that enhances performance and fuel efficiency simultaneously. It is available in 5 different colours: Magnetic Blue, Candy Blazing Red, Force Metallic Silver, Black Purple, Black Blue.

The model was launched first in 2005 and then entered the market with an upgraded variant in 2007. On both occasions, the model failed to make a very large effect on the minds of Indian customers. Now a new avatar is another attempt from Hero Honda to infuse sales of the model.

This (pic in the 1st post) is not the actual pic of the new Achiever, if at all the news is true...

I remember seeing this pic, few years ago on xbhp itself, in a smaller size though.

UPDATE: Added the link, it seems cartradeindia.com doesn't have new pics to show:

Me thinks too. This looks like the same pic which was doing rounds on the internet couple of years ago.

Why the F@8k have they launched it?? i had done promotional activity for the Launch of earlier model in pune. we were given 7 dikes for 10 days. on day 3 handlebar end weight of one bike fell off on day 5 Exhaust of another bike came out of Engine mounting just when one of our member was giving a test ride... in all it was a pathetic bike and worst experience so far... what is HH going to achieve(errr) by launching new model? here i Pune only Cops use these lousy bikes and old model was just fine for them...

If they price it right, It will give very good competition to the likes of SZ and Discover 150. And if they can get around the quality issues as mentioned in rohit's post.. This will surely sell much better than The D150 (which sold 1.2lac units last quarter)
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

There are no difference between the old and the new, e.g: same post box windshield but some upgrades like black alloy wheels and new stickers.

this bike is in the league of SZ and Discover,
but they have upgraded again in there own style-new graphics, new colours thats all, and believe me this bike will again fail to make an impact in the market.
