Great just what I needed. The world is busy making the fastest bikes and we are busy making the cheapest ones.

Sadly, I've to agree with you.

But did you know, sometimes back I remember reading, Honda also is foraying into making cheap 100cc motorcycles. Not sure how cheap things are going to be.

Ever wondered? Tata makes cheaperst car in the world from here & now most motorcycle manufacturers are also trying to do the same.

Trust me, really getting on nerves. We're blessed with all the affordable motorcycles with not more than 20 bhp for over 4+ decade now!!! (Exception RD350 & rivalry of it with Ideal Jawa)

Waaa!! That would only be a dream for all of us. I used to dream about that, until I came across someone posted saying its better that these litre class motorcycles kept at highly unaffordable prices. For there are enough morons on the road not only to kill themselves but also put others into trouble isn't it? No way these motorcycles should be permitted without cleaning up the mess with road sense.

See the low cost info w.r.t Honda on this thread - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/157...a-krishna.html

Honda, the largest two-wheeler maker in the world, is planning a new low-cost bike for emerging markets like India that could be effectively priced at around Rs27,000
I also remember a thread running on this here.

Man, you just said the whole thing.
although there are people who need cheap and reliable bikes but we should not only conc. over that line up only.
Company should also see the 250cc market and try to build a good value for money bike.
Common TVS, do some stuff like M&M and Bajaj.
Pick up a ride and rewrite yourself to a new Identity.....

did you miss the post where the honda stunner outsold the honda cbr?
even i want faster bikes but i wouldn't blame the manufacturers.
we put our money where we get highest returns @ least risk. that is what they are doing too.
SPLENDOUR sold 2million units (read somewhere not sure atleast a million lol) while PULSAR the highest selling performance bike in india sold less than a lakh lol beat that.

EDIT: hero honda website claims 2million units for some unspecified year. the latest sales figure of splendour is 4lac units which is four times the pulsar.

I am not blaming the manufacturers. But if you were as closely associated with TVS , as I am. You would know they could easily launch some heavy-duty performance (by Indian standards) bikes. But they dont.

Hond Stunner outsold the CBR, so should on stop producing the Fireblade? Each caters to a different segment. Anything that is cheaper is likely to sell more than something more than 10 times as expensive.

then you should also know its a conservative indian company. lol they have their reasons. like price, after sales service, image blah blah. just said that for you saying the world is making faster bikes.
