India has a FTA with more than 25 countries but on different products,etc..
I think, The government is trying to tempt the companies to either setup their plants here or sign a FTA.. they cant afford to loose Indian market.. BTW, i guess the companies too wont hurry up with their plans as the budget norms may change next year too..
What about the European FTA that was supposed to half the prices of Merc n BMWs??? is it still in talks? You gotta risk it.. to get da biscuit !!!

Correct me if I am wrong, but does this means that the duty on CKD units which was 10% (before budget) was increased to 60%, has now been reduced to 30% after the negative response from automobile sector????Originally posted by docted View PostAny one here speak Finance ??

No they will go up. As the current price of Ninja is based on the older slab of 10%. It will be interesting to see if Bajaj decides to pass on the cost to its consumers.Originally posted by RAK View PostSo price of Ninja expected to go down?
Yes. Again the call is on the manufacturers to pass the entire additional cost or part of it to the customers.Originally posted by pulsater View PostCorrect me if I am wrong, but does this means that the duty on CKD units which was 10% (before budget) was increased to 60%, has now been reduced to 30% after the negative response from automobile sector????

Nothing to cheer about. And no, the prices of Ninja will not go down. In fact expect a northward bump in prices in it remains CKD. For further info, read what pulsater has to say-Originally posted by RAK View PostSo price of Ninja expected to go down?

I was speaking with the sales manager of Suzuki in Bangalore this PM. He tells me that there is a definitely an increase in prices for the SBKs that they sell. Indicative numbers are - Gsxr - 1.25L, Busa - 83K, Intruder - 1L & Bandit - 50/60k. This would be effective April 1, 2011. Though, he is not clear under which head the increase is categorized (VAT/Duties/others).
Has anyone else heard about this? How about other brands - Yamaha/Ducati/HD ?

why there would be a price increase in the CBU units? The tax tariff remains the same for all CBUs (=60%). I am more keen to know the new pricing of Ninja250R and Harley Davidsons.Originally posted by daxim View PostI was speaking with the sales manager of Suzuki in Bangalore this PM.
