  • Yamaha sales grows by 44.3% in March 2011

Yamaha motors hits it big on the sales charts as they record a 44.3% domestic growth in the March sales over the same month last year.

Yamaha holds a strong place in the Indian market and the biggest testimony of this statement is the upward growing sales graph. The company recorded sales figures of 25,784 units in the month of March this year as compared to a 17,864 in India in the same month last year. The Japanese two-wheel manufacturer exported 1388 more vehicles than last year giving a total sales figure of 36,768 in March this year.

Good going. The more the Japanese bike manufacturers grow, more will be the competition and our domestic manufacturers will(hopefully)up their game and this will lead to better products for Indian bikers.

It's really surprising to see Yamaha, Suzuki are struggling to get a high growth such as 80% on a very low base of 20k units per month!! last year we saw Bajaj & TVS continuously showing 60-80% growth on a relatively higher base numbers such as 1.5 lakh units per month(Bajaj) & 1.2 lakh units per month (TVS). This shows that they really need to give a big push on the marketing side & have a look at their levels of reach(dealership), spares availability & after sales service.

are bhaiya itni growth ho rahi hai ab to R1 ki assembly India me shuru kar do........

On a serious note I think Japs need to improve their sales and distribution along with the availability of spares. they have good products but at the same time the spares problems is big... I think Japs specifically Yamaha was not ready for such a big success of the FZ and R15.....
