Isnt that what John did in one of the chase sequences in Dhoom to lose a Police Gypsy..

Guess in some places in the US (like Miami) also you have the same set of laws..Not entirely similar but if you are a biker caught speeding, the police cant chase you because it puts your life in jeopardy as well as the other ppl on the road.

If the guy on the bike, crashes himself and kill himself during the chase, the media will turn it on its head and the officers chasing him are going to have a terribly bad time.

Guess its the LIFE vs BIKE question!! The owner can always claim insurance for his bikes getting stolen. He might get the bike back too but you cant get the life back. Guess thats the reason this supposedly stupid law is in place.

Excuse me!!! We're all been injected with the stupid laws from Britishers; again, sorry to say, we're not pioneers even in framing stupid laws

See, this happens here also. Before I was sensible enough to use helmets and used to zip through traffic in very dangerous ways, I was never once stopped by cops. But once you ride with helmet, and you go a lil fast, you are promptly pulled over. See, the cops are also human and value others life. They deal with these things day in and day out. They are saving a life most of the time they dont chase an erring motorist without proper head gear. Enforcing the law at the cost of someones life is not something anyone wants. As far as I have seen, cops do not jump into a chase. They keep their cool. They have better options like radioing ahead if they really want to stop anyone. And then, even if they chase, stop and penalize, most of these morons still do the same thing, until they learn from mistakes!
