ICON produces some of the best and most practical motorcycle riding gear, i too was trying to purchase some from ICON, but no dealer in india. so sad. PRS, BM, .....anybody listening.

The problem is apart from proper enthusiasts like us, most of the people in India use a healmet only bcs the govt asks them to. They buy the cheapest possible thing at 400 rupees. Now imagine the prospects of a company whose starting range coms in at 5k+. Even though they will get a substantial amount of sales, it wont be enough to justify the effort it takes to setup plant here or ship it in. We as consumers need to change, we as bikers need to educate the people on WHY it is important to buy proper gear.
I was personally one of the "idiots" who bought a 300 rupee healmet when I first got my bike few years ago though I quickly learned and switched, that is not the case with most of the people here.Comment

well... you are partially true.....even my mechanic wears a 400 rs helmet, and that too after crashing several times. earlier he was not using any helmet, but my continuous lectures on safety and benifits of helmet made him purchase atleast that.Comment

There are many roadside dealers of Icon in India. I didn't know it was a big brand like Arai. I thought it was most popular Chinese brand like fast track until I read this news.Originally posted by princesirohi View Postvery true....

As far as I know, ICON helmets/bike wear is not yet available in India.. and they are certainly not cheap for the average desi biker.Originally posted by lockhrt999 View Post
