Even I agreed to many of here that Yamaha is the most responsive of any manufacturer! Email them and call them, everything starts from that point on.

And the best part that I came across about Yamaha is that they have separate factory for spares!(?) and engine component.

Yamaha is going to excel for sure, they have product for every segment. People complain about Yamaha product not being fuel efficient, not long lasting. I would say its the perception of general public that Yamaha bikes are not fuel efficient and not long lasting. I would say it depends upon on the individual who uses and maintains it. I can show you people using old Libero for more than 10 years with more than 1 lac kms done without touching the engine! Also can show you Fazer fetching more than 45 kmpl mileage, I get 50+ mileage from my SZ-R.

Yamaha have all the right things in their kitty and they are making even better.

Yamaha India's dealership strategies are strange..

About an year or so ago, i tried to get a dealership in my Home-town. My idea was simple.. my town has developed from a small municipality to a Big corporation over the years and its one among the 5 biggest cities in kerala, and yes, we do have only a single yamaha dealer, from the Rajdoot times, [Who is doing very well though] despite other manufacturers having 2-3 dealerships in the same city.

The yamaha office's response was too lazy. They offered me a dealership in a border town of Trichur-Cochin. And they were asking for a task of 100 bikes/Month in that small town. remember, you can sell it neither in Trichur nor in Cochin. But, only in that small town.

I didn't take that offer coz that would've hampered my business plans for sure. Big investment + lesser sale area. Strange.

I still believe yamaha should concentrate on their target markets rather than playing the regular volume game. They should've launched a scooter some 6-7 years ago itself. They don't have products to cater the needs of the aam janta. Just look at Suzuki. They are still at least surviving.. simply because of that one good product called Suzuki Access.
