the seat dynamics of motorcycle and bicycle seats are very different. so it wouldn't be as much of an issue with motorcycles.
even in cyclists this problem is rare . i was lucky i got to see one case during my internship.
the primary cause is due to improper clothing(wearing tight inner wear) followed by the seat dynamics.

the bikers that feel numb in the perineum regions after rides are obviously using a very bad posture or are suffering from a form of sciatica. like any have said proper seating posture transfers weight onto your buttocks and not the perineum or the lumbar(lower back) region.

and regarding the cell phone radiation..kindly don't believe the spam emails/messages regarding these. lot of research is being done done about teh effect of EM radiation on our bodies but it is inconclusive so far. papers have been published for and against this theory,

most of this stuff is generally printed for shock value and advertisement rather than real facts. because the human mind responds to fear better than most other stimuli.

as for the tour de france question: most cyclists never ride just sitting down it is always partly sitting and partly standing so they automatically relieve pressure.

once again i stress smoking is definitely bad: it causes cancer, lung disease, impotency and a dozen more diseases..
biking is safe and fun unless you are ungeared or a total idiot or god forbid the guy near you is a complete idiot.
please dont justify smoking in this thread or else i shall harsh/rude to the point of being banned.

        well .........
the human body is genius and the god is the greatest engineer!

the problem is more in very tough seats also the total surface area.tough is bad but very small is more bad, mostly indicating towards cycle tough seat.

human perineum is super strong which is having one anchor for the somany musles called perineual body.its strong for day to day basis but nothing is made of steel.

normally a human being is designed to seat in the help of buttocks(glutious maximus) and thighs. partial support with frequent weight trasfer is very importent in any case.even is a person is lying down in same position is bad and will have bed sores, that s why we change our positions in sleep also, automatically.
the basic idea is if the load is given to some body part for prolonged period of time, thats bad,be it your buttocks ,be it your back,be it your perineum.

so just look at the normal anatomy of human pelvis.

if you look closely, its the anal part and the peritoneal are which takes the most load, the wider weight distribution is better. still the internal penis is mainly consist of urethra, prostate gland and spingters to control urine and ejaculation.
now the most venerable part is the urethra, which is case of extreme conditions or sudden injury can rupture .but not at all in regular riding conditions.
also blood supply in testis is through a cord called spermatic cord....

now this cord also carries vas differense which carries the sperm from testis to the urethra.all of this cord is protected in the canal called the ingunal canal,............again a safety measure from god..

now the look at the ovrview...

so we can say its quite frankly simple.if you put too much pressure on anything on your bodypart it will give problem.

        so what we can do...................

        1. wider ,softer more padded seat better.
        2. simple, straight upright riding position is better, hyper sporty riding position is not good for long time may be this is good for tracks and missionary for a limited time.
        3. take a break once in a while,walk a bit.
        4. stop worrying, start riding in proper way.
        5. if you are too much worried, meet a go out and have yor self medically tested and counseled.

kind of OT: since everyone who uses this website knows their way around a computer kindly use google scholar or pubmed.com or plain old google when u get some email of shock value. it is always better to trust the truth than to blindly believe anyone. about 10% of the cases i handle deal with people who have shocking misbeliefs.

              Heating

Some of our bikes have problem from heating in Tank area.Tank gets heated up and the heat starts to flow towards the seat and makes the ball-fry

For example A Friend of mine said his ZMR have heating problem once.
He asked for solution at service station. Service supervisor said this:
"When you rides, engines gets hot, Heat always moves up according to physics, unfortunately Tank is just above Engine, So tank will heat Up And ur --- will heat up.. No solution."

My point: If your seat is getting too hhot have an ice pack inside.. no problem!

Not to panic everyone. This article refers to a bicycle and NOT a motorcycle. The problem occurs due to constant pressure on the private parts due to the motion of PEDALING which does not apply to a motorycle. I confirmed about this issue with my friend who is a gynaecologist. so no worries

dude, seriously?, have you ever felt heat coming out of the bike seat????
that too because of engine over heating?
bike seat generally become hot a little bit because of the heat transferred from our body to it, other reason is if you park it on hot sun, but heat transfering from engine to bike seat is totally pointless....

actually the action of pedaling would help in reducing the pressure in teh perineum region as due to the opposing action of the pelvis and thigh y,ou would be relieving teh the pressure on the contralateral(opposie)side. but your friend is right, motorbiking is not the enemy here...
we can tour in peace not add infertility to the list of our worries that presently includes: autorickshaws/petrol prices/people who are determined to fall under our bikes at every street corner...lol

The first post says it is about pressure on your penis (or vag, if you're female). Then the discussion move on to heat from the engine that causes it. Then someone mentioned mobile phone's radiations.

What's the point of all this? Anyways.

And vishnurags, are you sure about the bicycle thing causing infertility and not motorcycles? Did you consult another gynaecologist?

As for me, I believe in small families, and 1 baby is all I need. So, this news isn't really giving me any stress as of now...

Nice catch , in US/western countries, bikes means bicycles. 'Bikes' are termed as Motorcycles..

You may take it or not, the friend I mentioned here is an XBHPian and a top tourer, He may say u his opinion if see this. His name is Praveen Mathew (Kerala)

An Air cooled machine with full fairing may cause such problem but the service guys explanation is kiddish since other bikes don't exhibit this heating onto seat.
