i've used Draper or TaperFit 2's.
(they're disposable but u can use them a few times before you change 'em)

u get them in small sachets (one set)
or in jars (if you plan on using them often).

no idea about where in Delhi you'd get 'em tho.

My vote goes to baraclava instead of using earplugs... (I would love to listen full on music though...)

Im searching for good ear plugs for the same reason. It gets bothersome after a while, even in a snug AGV.

This information is true, especially when you are riding high speeds (100+). During one of my rides this year, I dropped my earplugs somewhere while taking a break and had to ride 8 hours without earplugs. The wind gush resulted in temporary deafness, like the one which comes after bursting an extra strong Diwali Atom Bomb!

But 99% of the riders in India need not worry since they will ride at speeds way below 100.

          Thanks in advance!

Does this actually apply to the majority in India? bearing in mind, our bikes are quite slow and most sound like electric bikes, also the majority don't wear helmets, but still can't hear when you blow your horn.

How about this for a headline, Setting foot outside your home in India can make you blind and deaf. Suits the majority right?

below 80kmph most good helmets dont really have high wind noise .

A news that I came across that is partly related to wearing ear plugs & helmets.

Another reason to wear ear plugs when motorcycle riding - National Motorcycles | Examiner.com

I would say otherwise. You would go deaf without a helmet sooner than you would go deaf with a helmet.

This just makes me laugh because just a few hours ago, I went out to get some haleem (yummy.. yum) and I didn't take the helmet. Mind you, I'm going out without a helmet maybe after like several months. The ridiculously loud horns of bikes behind me was making my ear drum pain!! I swear, I never have this problem with my helmet on. I even felt my bike horn was too loud without the helmet on.

I ride at 110+kmph at least for 5+5 minutes everyday up and down office on my P135 with my helmet on, and I have never come across this so called loud wind noise! Maybe it's my helmet or maybe it's the angle it's at against the wind but I can swear on one thing, the damn loud horns made my ear pain like never! and I mean it, it was paining right inside my ears.. I was asking myself why the hell did you come out without the helmet and laughing inside my head at those fools who claim they can't hear vehicles with a helmet on and hence never wear one!

I would prefer the subtle wind sound against the damn horns anyday!

i don't know about others but according to my personal experience, recently my left ear started paining right after a ride & for around 2mnths or so i was hearing that whistling kind of sound in my left ear..i consulted an ENT doc & she gave me some ear drop for my ear..now my ear is good but after that experience i don't want to take any risk & i am so scared that i am not even using in-ear plugs for listening to music..I've noticed this thing after reading this article before that i was unaware of this thing..now m protecting my ears before every ride & it helped me..

Nearly 30 years and over 400 000 kms of helmet wearing and I am certain of some hearing loss during all those years.

@Kurt: Try using the earplugs that airliners give. They are better than nothing.

Ken Bro, how can we attribute the hearing loss, to be caused by helmets only?

I mean, we did a lot of things to ears all our life- we heard loud (sometimes) music using earphones, used cotton swabs to clean our ears or cleaned them by letting water deep into ear canal, jerked them, exposed them to loud music at rock concerts/ marriages, etc.

Isn't it possible that the slight hearing loss could be due to a reason, other than wearing helmet & we never noticed it?

A bit weird: I have ear-plugs, but they seem to fall out of my ear after sometime and now getting used to driving Cars has worsened the situation (watery eyes & wind-noise)

LS2 and SparX is what i wear.
