Now if someone could come out with a big bore kit and a nice free-flow for this bike it will be a amazing machine to have. Wheelie and wheelies everywhere .

Very good machine, Very good price.
I think Impulse is first of its type in India.

(P.S. : I'm saying good price because last week elder brother got CBZ Extreme for around 75k)

At possibly half the price of the KTM200, one could ride this, thrash this and buy a new one (or repair this)

Ofcourse I do understand that the Duke200 is a different league but at 50% price this is a sweet toy to have!

I have my eyes fixed on the KTM for now, but all I would need is a test ride to know the true capabilities of the bike.

And PS: I love the brand bashing that happens in this forum, especially Hero! Seriously. Gives a great insight on how well you know your motorcycling.

^^ But nonetheless its cheaper than FZ/Fazer family, and is more purpose built. I think the pricing is good. Waiting for a test ride now.

First impression - This bike should have come with a price tag of max 60K ex-showroom. 67k is little steep for what it has to offer.

so finally a good bike from Hero. i personally like the bike and feel the pricing is just right. the power quoted is 13.2bhp, which i feel is slightly low for the tourers. however i have a feeling that this was how ZMR should have been launched. at 17bhp it would have made a great touring machine, i feel ZMA's motor in this frame and below 80k pricing would have been excellent value for money .

however , hats off to hero for bringing this fresh change in the market.

The Impulse should actually be a fun machine. Whatever it might look in the photos, but in flesh and on road it will look unique in a good way.

If they launch a new bike and in case it has some technical glitch, people will say, they must have spent time in developing their tech instead of releasing the product in a hurry.
If they had not launched impulse and just waited until their r&d team developed a new model, people would say HeroMoto is too slow...

In xbhp, people behave as though liking Hero is a sin.

The term is called innovation.. R15 was innovation, 220 was... impulse?? i wudnt say so... a biggie like HMC shud get it right each time.. not just add on platics of differrent sizes and shapes to the same engine.. err.. havn't we been seeing this enigine since the CBZ in different iterations ??

Give Hero 4-5 years time... who knows, their r&d might do wonders and make them the best indian 2 wheeler company.

BTW, i'm not a fan of hero, i just dont like the way people criticize them, its totally baseless. They are just a few months old.

I am a fan of HH and BAL, am an ex-ZMA owner and 220 rider nw..

Why the hell should Hero follow bajaj's footsteps?

    BTW @the bold part

Oh yea, hard work right? you think they are magicians to develop new engine in a matter of few months of forming the company????!!!!

Few Months ?? Hero Motor Corp. Exists from 1983. 28 years of colloboration with Honda and they learnt nothing? But then guess we are being too mean on Hero now..

The problem with this entire thing is there are some people who think praising the products which are from their favorite company and criticizing every other company will make them intelligent people.
These people are called Fanboys and i hate them no matter which company they support...
On the whole the bike look fresh.. a dirt bike after a long while.. those Spokes look gorgeous after years of charecterless alloys.

But like someone mentioned, those front mudgaurds would have been better in body color or some other design rather than bland black!

Personally, I wud have gone for it 'IF' it had the ZMA's engine...

For all those guys bashing Hero Moto, just look at the price and then count your options. Everyone on xbhp wants a 300 cc sportsbike priced at one lakh, but any more expensive than that, and sour adjectives start flying.

Hero moto (earlier Hero Honda) was the first company to bring in motorcycles like the CBZ and the Karizma to the Indian market. If we see Kwackers or the CBR 250R's on the road today, we owe it to HH. It is just that people expect too much out of HH, which is really a company focused on entry level motorcycles which millions of Indians love to buy - nothing wrong with that absolutely.
hmm... i see why you are interested in this 150 cc beauty ... i guess 650's are hard to use for daily commuting :P

I would definitely like to have a nice long test drive on this bike...

    AUR HAAAN.... MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION

    KITNA DETI HAIN?

    tyres are rowdy.

    Power is only 13 bhp!!?
What keeps hero back from topping the power?
Disco makes same power and costs less.
P135 makes more power and costs less.
P150 produce 2 more horses and still costs less.
same with Yammies, suzukies and Tvs.

Why does Hero always have to come with the least power figures?

I hope the engine has a better power output and a better tuning as compared to the road going 150's from the Hero stable.

Now we have the price and we also have the specs. Also agreed the Impulse could be a good buy for "this" guy or "that" guy.

But with usually with every new launch, we do get a few enthusiastic xBhp'ians who become the first owners. So who are the xBhp'ians who would be going for this as his "first bike"..??

I would be really interested to know the guys would like to bell this cat..??
