  • Honda Crosstourer Heading For Production In 2012

After showing the Honda Crosstourer as a concept model at last year's EICMA show, the Japanese company has announced that it will bring the V4 adventure-tourer to market for the 2012 model year. Bringing a very polished concept vehicle to Milan, Honda made no secret about the possibility of the Crosstourer becoming a reality. Honda is remaining tight-lipped regarding specifics about the new Crosstourer, saying simply that the bike will have a V4 motor and will have an optional dual-clutch transmission.

Certainly better than KTM and Triumph (and Hero too) in terms of looks IMO.

BMW & Ducati...beware!!! But somehow it isn't appealing as much as GS's engineering or may be its because it looks more beautiful

Really confusing where Honda wants to place it.

Its got cross spoke wheels (to mount tubeless tires), 1200cc engine, high ground clearance, crash guards, shaft drive etc that puts it squarely with the BMW 1200GS or Yamaha Supertenere 1200 as a Adventure Tourer bike that can be comfortably ridden on or off road. But a V4 power plant & probably high bhp figures would put it closer to Ducati Multistrada 1200 which is more inclined to a sport tourer since a V4 power plant looks like an overkill for a adventure tourer (increased parts, weight, maintenance, fuel consumption etc). Or probably Honda wants to make a separate high power adventure tourer segment for themselves. Interesting to see what happens since the new VFR1200 anyway has not been a super success in the sport touring segment.
