      its the fazer 250

The link also suggests that it is the fazer 250 and not the r25(read r15 250cc)
so how many of you are happy.
The r15 is a track optimised bike which also suffices for commuter needs.
      i personally think(while owning a fazer) r15 with a 250cc engine would have been a good buy..
the ride experience on a r15 is just phenomenal due to the track oriented position and all.
but the ride experience in fazer is just like riding a normal bike.
anyways it will make an even better tourer with 250cc
      what do u guys think????

It'll be awesome if it's R25. Would like to see it dethrone Ninja 250 as best 250cc in the world.

Just imagine if Yamaha adopts Hyosung strategy and comes up with a R25 which looks identical to R6

I only hope that its not too late for them.
They took their time for the launch of FZ and the R15 and though that didn't effect them, but you never know.

                Welcome News.

With Honda coming out with the CBR250R, it had to happen.

so will it take 1-2 year to launch a product with 250 cc heart?
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

I don't think they have to go ahead with R&D and designing work again from the scratch . they have a good Product in the form of R15 which can take responsibility of quarter liter with little tweaks in chasis department and few more small things which shouldn't take so long. I can only pray that Yamaha Engineers don't doze off and show they laziness atleast this time or else CBR and comet won't leave a gap to breath.

It has already happened I was sick & tired of waiting for a 250cc from Yamaha & then finally I'd to buy CBR; I listened to brain instead of heart!!!

The market for 250cc is growing and we are studying that. There are a couple of models in that segment and people are upgrading to 250cc bikes. We will do 100 per cent localisation of that bike...we will manufacture it here
Did you read the crap news? They're realizing only now that there's potential for 250cc segments that too after seeing CBR selling 3000 units a month (which I seriously don't believe). They should've started this when R15's sales were topping the chart & they're doing this not only after CBR but also when Duke & P200NS's era has started.

We have taken the feedback from people who have bought 200-250cc bikes and our feedback says they are not fully 'satisfied' with their products. So there is a need for a better bike than what is available today. Internationally, we have the Fazer 250, but I cannot comment when we will launch a bike in that segment
And this is totally ridiculous!!! Most probably a press statement!!!

And the worst thing is this one...
Reports suggest that Yamaha has been doing a market study for a 250cc bike, which according to sources was scheduled for launch last year. However, the management decided to gauge the response for the Honda CBR250R.

This year, Yamaha has decided to focus on scooters...

                          ^That assumption is not true.
The feedback excercise for the next big Yamaha was done a fair while before even the first CBR250 pics came online!

+1 but how does the link suggest its a FZ250? I don't see any confirmed sentence.

R15 may be a track oriented bike, but its NOT a bad commuter. If I had to choose, I would choose an R25 over an FZ250 anyday for most/all purposes...

What?? What is Mr. Kurian trying to say here?

And is FZ250 their definition of a "better bike"? Not my definition for sure. R15 is successful because it has strong basics (low weight, power, handling, braking, grip, looks, smoothness, etc.). Can FZ250 live up to those expectations?
