Yeah...I am aware of the price annouced in the Auto Expo. I was present in the Expo. But I guess the quoted price was for CBUs. If Triumph takes the CKD route as did Kawa in case of Ninja, shouldn't the price come down?

wow ! didnt know kawa ckd costed 3L I always thought it was cbu!
damn ! this is costly for quarter litre in india. hoping triumph does better.
not that I really mind over price for exclusivity but if good number s are not registered the damn spares become hard to come by.
btw whats been the golden sales number for bikes spares to be available in india over a ten year period ?

        C'mon!!! Is a upright parallel-twin 72 equivalent to sports triple 125?

I only wish the price increases or remains the same from reaching all the immature morons who're made by the useless Govt!!!

the comparison video rates triumph very good.
but 250-350 cc bike for india will still take some time definitely more than an year.

Everything is gud, but the main thing is market segmenting & market positioning which will play a role in achieving revenues.
B'cos this is always a tough challenge for a non Indian based bike manufacturer to establish the organization (shop floor, assembly lines & paint shop). The same had happened with DAEWOO Motors, when a big new plant was set up in Greater Noida to manufacture cars for Indian market but couldn't capture the market, the plant got wind up & is engaged in doing job work for other auto ancillaries. That's why there is an importance of joint ventures at such points.

I am planning to buy Bonneville. But I have one doubt, Boneville engine is not liquid cooled. UK weather is not hot like India, wheather this bike will survive Indian weather ?

Bonneville does not have to rev up to high rpm's... its like an enfield... not a CBR 150R... and more over, it has a compression ratio of 8:1 or 8.5:1 because of it it doesnt heat up that much, this bike is not even faired... so im quite sure usage of the right engine oil grade will be enough for maintaining a proper temperature on this bike...

                                Triumph 125cc rumours re-emerge

They denied it before, but is the mini-Triumph now on the cards?

INDIAN newspaper The Hindu is reporting that Triumph is planning to launch a 125cc machine by the end of 2013 to take on the biggest sales sector of one of the world's largest motorcycle markets.

According to the paper's business section (Business Line : Home Page News & Features) Triumph representatives met prospective components suppliers for the project last year, and plan to make the bike in the firm's new Indian assembly plant, which is due to be set up this year in Karnataka.

Initially, the plant will make Bonnevilles, Street Triples, Speed Triples and Daytonas, all destined for the Indian market, but it is also believed to be slated to manufacture a range of cheaper machines. A machine in the 250cc-350cc range is believed to be under development already and is likely to be built in either India or Brazil.

The creation of a 125cc machine would give Triumph not only a good position in the Indian market, where small-capacity bikes are still in the majority, but would also provide a learner-legal machine for Europe.

Although Triumph has denied the 125cc rumours in the past, small-capacity models from other manufacturers have been seen circulating at some of the British firm's favoured test tracks in recent months alongside Triumph's own new models, presumably giving Triumph a firm grasp of what its potential rivals are currently offering in the entry-level division.

The Hindu also echoes reports that Harley-Davidson is planning an Indian-specific model to be made at its own new Indian assembly plant. Although not as small as the Triumph 125, it's reckoned to be between 500cc and 750cc, making it by far the smallest (and cheapest) Harley seen in years.
