Hyosung plans India-specific off-road bike
Seems like Garware Motors in full drive .... here is the latest news on upcoming plans
Hyosung plans India-specific off-road bike - News - Autocar IndiaBesides expanding its current line-up of Hyosung bikes through its Pune-based Indian partner Garware Motors, South Korean motorcycle manufacturer S&T Motors, which owns Hyosung, is setting its eye on the Indian off-road segment. The company is developing a 250cc off-road bike especially for India. The bike will be called as RT250D and will be an elder sibling to the already existing RT125D which is sold globally. We expect it to hit Indian shores sometime between March and May 2013 and it will be assembled locally.....................

@Frankpilli: Its not a true off road bike....its meant to be comfortable over a mix of road and light trails. It probably cant handle fast paced rough and tumble offroad duties.
Read somewhere that a suzuki vanvan, built in the same style is popularly used as a beach bike, used mostly on sandy terrain.
Looks nice. Would be a nice buy if one had a countryside estate or farmhouse or something.Last edited by sunilg; 05-16-2012, 06:12 PM.

Another one from the Family: Yamaha TW 200
Don't care how it looks, but looks like a lot of fun to ride.

It might not look "lovely" but again, it seems purpose built and talks business. The fuel tank will definitely make one a laughing stock in India though...
Low wheelbase, riding position, etc. everything seems practical though.---

my friend here rides a Yamha tw200. I have also ridden this bike a few times. needless to say it is awesome. it has a strange combination low seat height, high CG and tonnes of traction. the bike is very confidence aspiring and feels like it will handle whatever you can throw at it. I am not sure but I think it can also do somehitng like 120 km/ hour but who cares? TW is the most fun at 40-60 and as I have heard on TV, the only roads you see will be in your mind.

@HyperRetard, Wow, Nice step by step tutorial, but i'm unable to follow the "steps" due to my very limited Internet knowledge. could u please send me the URL instead?Originally posted by HyperRetardStep 1: Open anew tab
Step 2: type www. images.google.com in the address bar
Step 3: Press enter
Step 4: Wait for the page to load.
Step 5: type suzuki van-van in the search bar
Step 6: Look at the images
Step 7: (completely optional) feel stupid about your post.
Please check the Name of the thread "Hyosung plans India-specific off-road bike". any off-road bike which is specifically made/to be made for India-specific should be a true off-road bike with less un-sprung weight which can tackle the Indian off-road terrain, majority of which is dry & barren. and NOT like the terrain ridden by farm hands, gamekeepers, race teams, surf dudes, race paddocks and beaches.
i reiterate the RT250D is definitely NOT an off-road bike especially if it goes on sale with those wheels & tyres shown in the picture.
Please see the two pictures posted by princesirohi (post number 14). i posted after seeing the picture which was in the Auto car sccop. the other one is the final product(yellow & black) which has no comparison in wheels with the Auto car scooped one
BTW, this is the overall verdict from MCN (motorcyclenews.com) in 2008.check the text in bold
The Suzuki RV125 VanVan is an enigmatic motorcycle, that’s for sure. Farm hands, gamekeepers, race teams and surf dudes would be the ideal customers. it’s perfect for whizzing around country estates, race paddocks and beaches. Fashion-conscious, retro fans must love Suzuki RV125 VanVans. Teenagers, probably, don’t. Who knows? But it’s still pretty cute: better than a quad or a scooter, either way.Biker of the Year -2013

well the top pic in my post is actually a different version based on the bike in lower pic. the platform is same and so is chasis and engine. a few basic changes like tyres, swingarm, brakes, forks apart from cosmetics. the tank is same just that it is hidden by bikini fairing or whatever you can call those.
