    Topic Approved.

I've renamed the title from "Bikers" to "Bike riders".

Heartfelt condolences to the child's family.
        Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

          so sad

such a sad incident.. No matter how many protective gears these bikers wear, they can only save themselves.. The innocent pedestrian, an unsuspecting common motorist is always unsafe.

I would like to share an incident which happened three months back here in hyderabad, with one of my very good friends father.
His father went out to buy milk, and was walking beside a pavement when a rider on a 'passion' - please note it was a 100 cc passion, rammed into him from behind.. The speedster's headlight was not working and he was speeding. He was also drunk.
After two days in the hospital uncle succumed to his injuries.. His head struck the road. Now who in this world would wear a helmet while walking beside a dug up pavement.
Just imagine the loss my friend's family has incurred due to this negligent rider..

Edit - My signature shows what I am trying to do from quite sometime now. I am seriously learning to ride slow.. But sometimes speed up.. Old habits are so hard to let go.. But one should shun that before it becomes dangerously uncontrollable..

Not just riding recklessly but also drunk. Such people should be thrown in jail with hard labour & key thrown away in to the sea, they should also paraded in front of all those who go to get their driving license as an example of what's going to happen to them if they drink & drive. At the very least such people should never be allowed to drive again. Their licenses should be canceled & they should be banned from driving for life.

I felt sorry for the little girl when I came to know about this news.May her soul RIP.Incidents like this can only be avoided if the attitude of people changes. There is very little cops can do when 9 out of 10 vehicles break the law.I have always taken steps to ensure that my friends and family drive/ride safely.Initially I used to be the last to arrive when I go out with my friend,But now things have changed in a positive way.I am happy that I have changes driving habits of my friends and made at least some of them to know the importance of seat-belt and helmet. Its our responsibility to care for people who are important to us.

                  Condolences to the family members

My personal condolences to the family members.

I personally feel that such unfortunate incidents will continue to happen unless
                  1. Every rider is well trained / rides with his head on his shoulders
                  2. The authorities take this seriously and jail the offenders

Stating the above as couple of weeks back while returning from Coorg on the Mysore highway i saw a group of 7 to 8 bikers riding without helments, wheeling and cutting very close to the vehicles. When one of them cut very close to my vehicle they started shouting and abusing me. Since i was with my family members, i ignored them, but this is definitely a scary situation to be in. Secondly i saw them going past 3 to 4 standing traffic cops all high speed and the traffic cops didn't seem to be interested in doing anything about it

Just because of a few...who just run for the momentery thrill the entire biking community is getting blamed.

Drunken drive - 2 or 4 wheelers, their vehicles has to be taken off by the police & currently they leave off the next day with Rs. 250/- fine. This has to be changed and given a 10 day imprisonment without bail option. During the 10 days the law by itself should make them do some hard labour that they would never forget in their entire life

This has to be published across in all media (Covering the individuals face) so that the public understands the seriousness

Only when the punishments go severe the offences would come down (this has to be done for some time atleast till the time it gets into the blood of each and every individual)

                    Sorry for the kid...
Never Give up on something that you can't go a day without thinking about.

                    Cheers
