Though the news is from UK that may or may not be applicable here, someone, somewhere is supportive of motorcycles & that news itself is quite happy to share here

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

surprisingly, "they" need a study to confirm this, we "indians" know this already.

well, their traffic model doesn't show the complete picture. if they want to see the future, what happens if such a model is implemented.

it's how "they" use that information which makes their system work. Their gov. actually promote 2 wheeler use country wide.

I find someone on r15/cbr/duke a lot cooler than someone in a sedan.

Agree with Prince there. This is an obvious fact and not sure why a 'study' is required.

I didn't understand the bit about a bike's PCE being 1 on an empty road. How can a bike occupy as much space as a car

In Indian context, having more two-wheelers on road also increases unpredictability in traffic. So not sure if focused increase in two-wheeler traffic is desirable.

Oviously using a 0 bhp vehicle is good for health, pocket as well as the enviornment but then think of people commuting 20kms each way to office/ college and vice versa. The points to note are :
                    1. The commuter will be exhausted soon after reaching the destination. How would he concentrate on work / studies?
                    2. Time taken for the travel.

Electric vehicles are the best commuting tools after bycycles but then who doesn't wants to speed up on an empty stretch....
