I was personally present at the press conference that ET is quoting from. Mahindra & Mahindra definitely has no plans to launch a Diesel 2-wheeler. They may be big players in the Diesel engined 4-wheeler market, but that doesn't mean they will be spending crores on R&D for a market where margins are so very low just because the govt. on India has made a blunder.

Anyways, the journalist who asked this question was almost trying to put these words in Mr. P S Ashok's mouth. The statement has been properly misquoted and royally misinterpreted.
