  • MP High Court orders change in Pillion Hand Grip position..! Now stayed by SC..

You see come times even our respected courts also give us an opportunity to LOL on certain issues, this is actually one of them.

MP High court orders hand grip to placed between Rider and Pillion and a ban if the ruling is not confirmed to..!

Going against the existing positioning of the grip -- above the tail light -- the Madhya Pradesh High Court ruled that it should be placed between the driver and the pillion rider, and worse, it banned sale of two-wheelers in the state if manufacturers did not conform to the ruling.

PS: Little old news, sorry about that.

    News Approved.

It sure is news, but I find it funny. I mean putting hand grip between the two seats is ridiculous!

It reminds me of LML Select II the only two wheeler which had a grip cum backrest in the middle as well as on normal place.

Its just an interim stay as the apex court will hear the case in detail in upcoming hearing on 19th Dec.

and secondly the whole issue is baseless, as if the petitioner has some kind of grudge against these poor companies, Imagine another accessory for Madhya Pradesh.

To the contrary the Kerela high Court observation on banning women wearing saree while being a pillion and sitting side ways was welcome by all, I wonder who would like to have this kind of accessory fitted.

It means a handlebar between Rider Seat & Pillion Seat?? WTF?

There is practically no bike with such a setup in stock.

Man! People who hardly rode any bike, are making decisions like that ... On the positive Side, it may encourage manufacturers to incorporate Split Seats!

Who in this world comes up with such weird ideas? The govt should first of all think of improving the road infrastructure and the traffic system. No point in deploying ghastly add-ons which would be an eyesore and above all the pillion would look like practising see-saw!!
Thank god, the move has been stayed!!

MP court should have considered this : a truly Indian factor

I guess they meant the strap which comes on SBK's pillion seat. But if they are asking for a handle between the two seats then they surely have gone crazy.

IMO first step teh government must take is to legalise pedestrians to shoot rash auto drivers and helmetless riders [they are going to die anyway so we can make it less painless] and once these laws are implemented the roads are gonna be so clear and safe and fun, no other crazy laws needed
