What does this mean

Carburetor: Side Draft Variable Venturi (Piston)

Man, after so many days the website is updated. I have already seen it on bhubaneswar roads. I couldn't take a test ride but i will soon take it.
Not only it is one of the best looker in commuter segment but also i think best features:-
1. Digital meter
2. Disc brakes
3. Tubeless tyres and broader tyres( front:-80/100-18, same as ZMR,extreme and hunk, rear- 90/90-18)
4. Transistor ignition system- much better and longer firing
5. Power of 8.7 Ps but a torque of 9.36 Nm- this torque is enough to put most 150 and 125 bike a tough run in city traffic.
6. Horizontal engine and thus greater engine life
7. Side draft carburettor- Same as super splendor and not like splendor which had round slide- The new carburettor are actual coming from 2010 on CD-DELUXE, splendor pro and passion pro. These carburettor have a TPS which controls the mapping and switches between as many as 10 maps
8. Chassis has been changed to diamond type from double cradle.
9. Box section swingarm
10. Indicators are from glamor
11. Headlight visor has been updated and is more aggressive.

All in all you can say HERO has shown its strength by updating its commuter and not only it has changed its looks but by doing the above change has made it the best commuter bike in India.
I think passion x pro is the first change and slowly everything will change.
The sticker changes are of past and now everything will change.I am very happy and actually thinking to buy one just to see the way commuter has changed.

Side draft is our general bike carburetor type. I am not sure what variable venturi means. AFIK it means a constant depression or cv carburetor.

It is a first for a standard commuter with a hero badge.
It looks similar to the Honda twister engine.

IT IS the Twister's 110 cc engine. "Hum main abhi bhi hai Honda"

But I'll say that it's a good looking 110 cc commuter (at least in the photos).

yeah because they paid for it..even car companies like maruti n many others buy engine from Fiat..there's nothing to pass Sarcastic comments about it ..apart from Hero,many other Indian companies did or still do the same as well in legal ways..

Final pricing is slightly *higher* than Honda Dream Yuga which sells for Rs.48141 Ex Showroom Delhi for the Drum+Self+Alloy model.

The funnier bit is that Twister pricing for the same trim i.e. Drum+Self+Alloy is ever so slightly lower than even the Dream Yuga!

because Twister somewhat looks like a Plastic Toy..

today i saw a splendour ad on tv, where they were focussing too much on the bike where "hero" was written instead of "hero honda"...this is the first time i saw this splendour ad with hero written on it.

Some more changes in Hero models are-------

All Models removed Honda name.

CBZ xtreme is renamed as Xtreme (CBZ word Gone)

CD Dawn/Deluxe renamed as HF Dawn/Deluxe

Now, Hunk & Xtreme are coming with Kick Starter
