  • Restricted KTM 390 Duke for A2 licence holders?

KTM could make a 40bhp version of the new 390 Duke for holders of the new A2 motorcycle licence, a source at the firm has said.
The standard 44bhp version is under the 47bhp A2 limit, but falls foul of power-to-weight ratio rules.
The new licensing rules - which come into effect from January 19 - will see under-21s restricted to 47bhp for two years.
The 390 Duke will use the same frame as the 125cc and 200cc Dukes and will be the fourth bike in the firm's Duke range below the bigger 690 Duke.
The 390 is expected to go on sale in the latter half of 2013.

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

so this news clears that duke 390 200 and 125 use the same frame...but how come the wheel base are different? (because of the suspension used is different?)

also the site ktm site mentions material used for 390 frame is different which contradicts the news

Material and Frame layout are two different things. It says same frame layout. Material could be different..

Had talks to KTM insiders and as per them the frame is slightly different but the material will remain the same

A2 licences??? Ok, that's a new news... Never really heard or known about it before...
& @mansur, Yeah, everything remains the same ( design, material ) but there's a slight increase in thickness or Dia at certain places of the frame/chassis.
