Recently the Ultimate Fighting Championship announced that the winner of the prize fight will be awarded a Harley Davidson. This came as a big surprise as UFC does not allow their fighters to ride motorcycles. But HD is one of the main sponsors of UFC, therefore the decision to give away an HD as the prize.
But how can the UFC stop its fighters from riding if they are gifting them motorcycles? UFC President Dana White said that the fighters should not use these bikes for commuting. Weekend rides are acceptable!
There have been many instances when professional sportspersons have quit, because of motorcycling injuries.
But is it fair for an individual to be banned from riding by a sports body? What would happen if MH Dhoni was told not to ride a bike because he is the captain of the Indian Cricket Team?
