Parking rates will double which come under the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC).
It will now cost Rs 10 for first 3 hours and Rs 5 for every subsequent hour for all two wheelers. SDMC said that parking rates have not been increased for a long time and the contractors were charging the public extra and pocketing the difference.
Even four wheelers will be charged more than the current rates. Rs 20 for the first three hours and then Rs 10 for every subsequent hour. The idea is to dissuade people from using personal transportation and start using public transportation instead.
