    Lady Pillion riders barred from sitting astride motorcycles in Indonesia

    In the island of Sumatra, Indonesia, the administration of the town of Aceh are planning to enforce a ban on women straddling motorcycles.

    The administration has already started distributing handouts to people about the ban, before it is formally implemented in a few months. Mayor Suaidi Yahya said that they will be sanctions against anyone who violates the ban. He did not specify what the sanctions will be though.

    This is being aimed at discouraging women from wearing pants and inducing them to wear skirts. Yahya also said that he wanted to honour women who are delicate creatures by enforcing this ban.

    Students and youngsters are against this ban, because it is much safer for the pillion if she is sitting astride rather than sitting side saddle.

      this is CRAP, total bullshit....what is happening to the world. the world is again going towards stone age.

      the sentence is so funny-- they want to honour women by enforcing a ban....LOL..how do you honour someone by putting a ban on her, banning her means demeaning her.

                Good news for sari guard manufacturers, hey should now plan to export their sari guards if Indonesian woman going to sit side saddle.
