To increase its presence in rural India, Yamaha is planning to increase dealership network by 12.5%.
Yamaha currently has 400 dealers spread across the country which it plans to increase to 450. Currently the no. of customer touch points stand at 1200 which Yamaha plans to increase to 1400 by the end of this year.
Yamaha India is hoping to increase its market share from the current 3 percent to 10 percent by 2016. This is the companies major expansion plans.

Though Nakata refused to give any concrete information about launch of high-end motorcycles, he did acknowledge the fact of the growing purchasing power.
