TVS Motor Company sales fell by 8101 units in February 2013 as compared to February 2012. Sales this year were 160895 units, while last year sales stood at 168996 units. A 4.7% decline. Domestic sales were the worst effected with a 6.5% fall. The bad news is that not only motorcycle sales but even scooter sales are falling. This is even though the scooter market is the fastest growing segment in the country currently. Two wheeler exports grew by a healthy 12%, while three wheeler sales grew by 57%.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) today reported 10.87 per cent growth in its total sales for February 2013 at 2,28,444 units as compared to 2,06,043 units in Feb'12. Motorcycle sales jumped 30.69 per cent to 1,08,553 units in February 2013 from 83,061 units in February 2012 whereas, scooter sales dropped 2.51% to 1,19,891 units from 1,22,982 units in February 2012, HMSI said in a statement.

Yamaha Motor India's sales have risen by 19%, from 27050 units in February 2012 to 32097 units in February 2013. Overall sales grew by 17%. Exports for the firm grew by 13%.

Hero Moto Corp Sales have fallen by 4%. Its February 2012 sales were 523465 units which has now come down to 501271 units in February 2013.
